Welcome to MKO,
First thing to do would be to make sure you're caught up on the FAQs of the site. They're pretty easy and straight forward, with simply rules like, "don't bump threads that are over 3 months old" and other procedures such as signature size limit is 250kbs.
Speaking of signatures, you can go HERE to request a signature be made for your account.
The most active boards are the General Discussion boards, with the most popular thread being the Drive By Thread where you're allowed to post anything you want, regardless of the topic (as long as it's within community rules). The Drive By Thread varies from talking about music, to games, to tv, to school, to relationship issues, and anything in between. There's always fun to be had in there.
A lot of people also tend to have trouble using HTML for the first time, and so I recommend going to The HTML FAQ thread for tips and tricks on that.
If there's anything else you need while here, you can always ask for help, and someone will be sure to provide assistance.
