I don't quite remember the last time that your national anthem got booed in Canada. And it's better than having you damn Yanks chanting "USA ! USA !" like a bunch of idiots...

But anyway, I really can't grasp the concept of the "Sudden Death" system. You can have a team like Slovakia (who lost 3 games and won zero) against a team like Canada (who won 3 games and lost zero) and the loser will automatically get eliminated ? Canada won, but didn't the stakes seem a little high for only a quarter-final match ? For example, Sweden was eliminated by the Czech Republic and I really think Sweden had a better win/loss record than the Czechs this year...

Anyway, best of luck to Canada in its match against the Czech Republic tonight. Canada vs. Finland in the finals look like the stuff dreams are made of...

(BTW, I already made a thread like this, but it got booted down to the lower pages because I stopped updating it for a short time...After the final match is over, I'm pretty damn sure I'll make a thread saying who the champion is.(hopefully Canada) )

WOW the Canada-vs-Czech game was a nail bitting one! But thank god to Vicent Lecavalier for scoring the winner. So now it will be Canada-vs-Finland.

No offense, but I believe it would be better if you just didnt chant it at all.It wasnt bad for a while, but now nearly every time I watch wrestling (I know your talking about hockey),and its taking place in the U.S. all the fans chant is U.S.A.Trust me it gets annoying. No offense to the U.S. or anyone from what I just said either.

Who cares what the Americans chant. Let them chant whatever they want. This thread has to do with Hockey not Chanting.

anyway

i have been avioding the world hockey games. because there might not be a NHL season this year, so id rather just not watch anything, then get myself all psyched up for hockey then have it ripped away for the year.. besides the usa wasnt going to win anyway, its filled w/ old geezers playing.. grin its time for fresh blood to play for the usa...

im a big buffalo sabre fan, so hopefully there is a nhl season this year. the sabres look posed to finally be back in the playoff hunt..

People like you give the rest of us Flyer fans a bad name.

Anyway, that Canada game was just amazing. Canada and Finland should be an interesting game. I'm praying that there is a season this year. Being a Flyers fan, we were so close last year and to not have a season would just be horrible. As a hockey fan in general, I fear what a lockout would do to what's left of the sport.

If Montrealers are faggots, than I believe Minnesotans are all straight ?

Lance Storm says:
Don't blame Canada...Blame yourselves !

Anyway, last night was the most high-risk game I've seen all tournament. The Czechs were pretty damn amazing. Just when you thought that the Canucks won, the Czechs go and score another goal SIX BLOODY SECONDS LATER. Amazing, that's all I can say.
At first, I thought Roberto Luongo didn't belong on the ice (where's Brodeur ?), but he did prove his worth in overtime. Good thing that Lecavalier scored a surprise rebound goal after missing the first one. Everyone's reaction was "He shoots...Aw FUCK, it missed...GOOOOOOOOOOOAL !!!". Even Gretzky reacted like that, the camera zeroed-in on him.

Best of luck to Team Canada in the finals. The Fins are one hell of a team. It's gonna be thrilling to see all the big-name Canadians as well as Saku Koivu on the ice.
