This might be the worst thread idea I've ever come up with, but I'm having the WORST time trying to come up with ideas for gifts this year!
Now, I have a large family, and while I'm good at thinking up / badgering them for ideas for them, I can't seem to think of anything that I actually want.
Do you have any suggestions?
Of course, I'm not asking with the assumption that you know me or what I have or what I want, but what do you people want? What are you getting for other people? Do you have any great gift ideas for yourselves or others?
Perhaps there are other people on this site struggling to find the right idea for friends, family or even themselves. Maybe this might help?

It's understandable to be in a slump when you're trying to get gifts for the family. I mean, my parents pretty much have everything they could possibly ask for, how in the world are you supposed to give them a gift? Even when you ask them and they don't really give you any good ideas on what they want.
I don't always want to get my mom a nice gift basket from Bath n' Body Works, I just feel that I give her too much perfume, but yet again, she never tells me what she wants. All she does say is "I don't need anything." I can't just have a Christmas go by without getting my parents something.
And with my dad, same goes with my brother, they're tech freaks, they love anything technology wise. But you can't buy them anything too expensive becuase you can't afford it on your own. My dad already as an iPad, and I doubt he needs a new phone. (He doesn't know how to text, and it's kinda pointless to get him one anyways)
I could get my brother a video game, however, he recently told me that he's done with consoles because of them always having a new one come out, so he'd rather stick to PCs... yet, he's already set with the games that I want to give him, what in the world can you do about that?
Besides my mom, my boyfriend is the other person I managed to get, and he probably already knows what I'm getting him anyways. The new Blink-182 CD... I don't think he knows that I'm also getting him other things that tags along with the CD when you pre-order it... Though, I feel really bad that I didn't get him the massive $100 gift that has everything in it...
Does that sound bad?

Usually when i ask family and relatives what they want for gifts they always say to save my money, that they don't need or want anything.
I have a good chunk of my gifts picked out this year. i just can't think of what to get my sister or mom.
What I did get so far: I managed to track down a brand new and sealed vintage razor for my dad, some video games for my brother and a blu-ray player as a combo gift for my dad and mom because their 10 year old dvd player broke. I just can't think what to get my mom as a solo gift. I'll also give my godparents money because I never really know what to get them and my parents usually pick out gifts for our my grandparents.
I've though about getting my sister and mom gifts sets or high end personal care products from some place like Kiehl's, but it just seems too tacky to me.
Money can be a good gift idea, but I do know some people who refuse to take cash as a gift and will insist on the person taking it back.

If you truly don't have the slightest idea what you want for Christmas, odds are you already have everything you've ever wanted, which is awesome.
As for friends and family, simply ask them what are the three things they've been crying about these last twelve months, and list them by financial priority. Whatever you can most afford, get them. If you can afford all three, go ape shit!
I hope this helps.

Well, for almost any guy, a guitar will cover everything, you know, they'll think that playing guitar will get them girls and such, and some girl may want a guitar if they like that kind of music.
For most girls, I have no idea. I'm sorry. I'm just not good at understanding the female brain.
