Can you play CD-R or CD-RW's onto a DVD player?

I was told you can, but everytime I burn a video or 2 to a CD and try to play it on my DVD player (on my TV in my room) it doesn't work. I get the same error, "The playback feature may not be available" or something.

I've downloaded both Nero and NeoDVD trial to burn these cd's. I was told only CD-RW's work best. But I still get the same error. The videos I'm trying to burn are simply any of the MK Deception videos.

Can anyone help me please? Or am I wasting my time and actually need a DVD burner? Thanks in advance.

Um, I think that CD-R's and CD-RW's would still work the same.

I remember a while back I burned a bunch of .mpeg music videos to play on my DVD player. Nothin' fancy, just Roxio's Easy CD Creator did the trick. But I dunno if it would work on all DVD players though....

when I burn the vids... what format do I put it in? VCD? SVCD? or DVD? (or do you actually need a DVD-R or DVD-RW.. if ur choosing the DVD format?)

and would a Symphonic (thats what I have) be able to play these burned CD's?

The problem might not be your cd, it may be your dvd player. First off to avoid any trouble later on, check to see if your dvd player even supports svcd. Second, I find this is the easiest way to burn movies onto dvd's. I use sites with "verified" downloads off of emule, they come in things called bin and cue files. From there it's a piece of cake....with nero anyway, I only use nero so if you don't have it sorry I don't do it any other way.

1.)Open Nero Burning Rom
2.)Click the Recorder Tab
3.)Click on Burn Image
4.)Browse for the cue file (this should upload the bin file)
5.)Click on Burn and you've got yourself a svcd wink

The type of cd shouldn't make much of a difference is use Sony CD-Rs and it works fine with me
