Simply put, think about it.

If the criticism isn't true or doesn't make sense, ignore it.

If it is true, there's still two options:
1. Ignore it. You can't change yourself, people should take you as you are.
2. Try to change. That's not easy.

I think the best way is to find a compromise between those two.

My dad does the same thing to me...It used to bother me until I decided to label him as a moron. Now whenever he says anything to put me down I just remember that he is a moron and his opinion really doesn't matter.

I agree, if it's not true, to hell with it. Why let it bother you? On the other hand, if it is true, then just find something on him and bring it out to the light; you know, fight fire with fire. If you get him enough, he'll soon shut up and leave you alone.

LOL, seriously though, it depends:

1)If that person is RIGHT in criticizing me, then I try to give some form of justification as to why I did whatever I did in that way.

B)If the person is WRONG (at least to me he/she is wrong) then I strongly defend my actions. My purpose isn't to change that person's opinions, but at least I make sure they know that I was 100% sure in what I was doing and that I wouldn't change any part of it.
