On the top of the site, under the banner, where it says
"You have 0 new messages contained in your inbox.

There are 41 users online, 1 of them on your buddy list" and all that stuff, click on settings. In there, there is a box. You put that stuff in my post^^ there.

Shoe, it's: <
Not: &lt

The way you said that came up as just &lt to me, instead of < (Mozilla on Linux).

*.gif and *.png are two popular formats that support transparencies.

I love linux. I really do. But it isn't my fault that Mozilla doesn't support less than symbols without the semicolon. I find it rather disturbing that you felt the need to bring it up. I am rather certain that if a person doesn't know how to add a pic to their sig using some of the most basic HTML they are most likely using Microsoft's Internet Explorer as their browser. I am happy though that even though you saw a flaw in my html you still found it useful.

It's the same for Mozilla on Windows, btw.
And I was only correcting you, so you know how to use it in future use (if in this case it wasnn't just a typo).
No need to get pissed. :\

If you guys look at my quote, You'll see that i've tried to do what you guys have explained. But what does it mean when the box with an "X" in it shows up instead of the picture? Am i doing something wrong?

Yes, but HOW? How does the transperent part become transperent?! is there a certain color to make it?

It's like learning how to post an image and not knowing what a URL is all over again! aaaaarrrrrggggg!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't be bothered with getting used to the look of Mozilla. I'm very weird about things like that.

You need to make sure you put the http:// part in front of your URL. That's probably why it isn't working.

Try Angelfire.com perhaps, and you can give them a made up email account if you don't want them to have yours.

Agilo: ok note taken pissedness refrained.

Sig Kid: Yahoo/geocities don't host, there are a few host sites out there, one of which is Sharemation, some web hosts have free hosting, and I have used that from time to time. And there are a few other places, and you may even get somebody nice enough to host it for you.

Gl1tch: Now if you don't want to use Paint Shop Pro (which I have never used) and don't have Adobe Photoshop (which I love) there is an alternative. Let's go with basics here open mspaint (or your favorite editing proggie) and open your picture(jpg, gif, bmp) and make the background you want all one color that isn't used by the template. I'll use your sig as an example it is mostly blue. So you can pick any color that isn't the main part of your picture. And everything that you want to be transparent you color. Magenta and Green (255G) are popular colors to choose. And you fill in the areas that you want transparent.

Save that image as a 24-bit Bitmap file. And (providing you don't have another) use your favorite image viewing program, or download IRFanview; ACDSee might work, but I prefer IRFanview. Open that 24-bit picture in IRFanview click on file -> Save As choose *.gif as the file extension and it will pop up a menu on the right. One of the options is "Choose transparent color" Select that. When it goes to save it will bring up a mini-picture and you select the color that you want to be transparent by clicking on the picture. Make sure you click on the area that you want transparent.

And boom, it's done.

Now there is a small hiccup in the happiness of life here. If it was a jpeg file jpegs blur to give it a photo-realistic look. gifs have no anti-aliasing. So they can look jagged depending on how many pixels you have in the picture. But if you are drawing your pictures you can just scan at a higher resolution, I have also manually edited pixels to make it look less jagged. But that is up to the author.

Anyway, I hope that helps somebody hehe.
