Well, if it isn't ended by nuclear war, then it'll be ended by global warming. Although it may be because of a meteorite. If not, I think it may end the natural way when the sun reaches the end of its life.

I don't think the world will actually "ene" by anything we do. No matter how poisoned we make the earth, some species of life will evolve to inhabit it.

More than likely, it will actually end when the sun goe supernova, and engulfs the first several planets of the solar syste in its explosion...

As a Christian, I believe in the Rapture, Tribulation, then God setting up his Kingdom on Earth. No need to expand, y'all know the story.

The Sun is about half way through its life span, and it is too small to ever go supernova. There just isn't enough mass in our sun to cause it to explode and collapse to form a neutron star or black hole. What will happen is when the Sun runs out of hydrogen in its core completely (which won't be for another 5 billion years or so) nuclear reactions will stop there, but they will continue in a shell around the core. The core will contract (since it is not generating energy) and as it contracts it will heat up. Eventually it will get hot enough to start burning helium into carbon (a different nuclear reaction). While the core is contracting the hydrogen burning around it heats will heat up the outer layers which will expand, and while they do that they will cool. And as ShingoEX said the Sun will then become what is called a Red giant and it's radius will be large enough to envelop the Earth!

Probability wise, it's likely that the Human Race will have been killed off by the time the Sun begins to expand. I don't think that any species in history has dominated the Earth for that long. Of course we could be the first....but we are more likely to be killed by an asteroid, natural disaster or kill ourselves.

haha, i think this is the likeliest scenario. Either this or it will be a close call with a gigantic meteor the size of texas that will be defelected by bruce willis and ben affleck under the supervision of billy bob thornton!

The end of the human race: Nuclear war, or something to that effect (bio-weapons, etc.). We'll definitely fall by our own hand.

The end of the world: When the sun goes all toasty and supernovas us to death.

Will blow ourselfs up with our own bombs. The United states alone has enough nukes to blow the world up 4 or 5 times. So yah... boom we all die.

THe world will end in the next few generations. Science has proven that a giant meteor about the size of Montana is heading straight towards earth. Although, it will take a few centuries before it even enters our solar system but this is already a planned apocalypse.

Also, the threat of Nuclear War. With all the nations destroying all the so called weapon of mass destruction, I think they are only destroying a large number of them but not all.The next generation will hold information leading to the possible downfall of society and the arise of one government.Europe has already taken step one in the prophesies. One currancy...
