Scandal's main character, Olivia Pope, took a whopping throughout the entirety of the third season. Continuity was a mess. So, just for laughs (though it could be disturbing, as well), how do you think every shows (as well as movies, games, comics, etc) would be like if they were "Scandalized"? Particularly in their treatment of their main character(s)?
Spoilers ahead for a few series, obviously, though for the moment, there's only one I want to mention: Dexter.
At some point during the series, Dexter would stop being a serial killer, just like that, out of nowhere, and be only a lab geek, like most of the people around him think he is. He'd get bullied by Doakes, and nearly everyone else, and we'd be expected to actually root for those bullies. Dexter's murders wouldn't even be treated as some dark fantasy of his, as they never would have happened, at all. Or, they did, but again, Dexter suddenly stopped killing, and his homicidal nature was never brought up again.
You could expect him to get choked by everyone close to him. Rita, Debra, Harry in flashbacks, even the kids.
