To be honest I preferred the PS version of the game. Not trying to be part of any idiotic console war. I just found that with the larger amount of characters, it was more fun. But the N64 has a couple advantages missing in the PS version.

Cool. I just got MK:Trilogy not too long ago. It's fun. Just beware, the music may make your ears bleed, but everything else is fine.

I too think the better version is the PSX version. It had more charecters and more extras after beating it. It's main downfall is the loading time and lack of boss fatalities.

Shouldn't think be in the Classic MK board?

the PS version has better sprite animation and the music sounds like and mp3 file and not a MIDI file but the most noticable advantages the N64 version has: No "Loading" crap and if a cartridge gets scratched alot of times, it will still work! grin

I got an N64 with MK Trilogy a few weeks back and it's been fun playing it again. I also prefer the PSX version, but the N64 version is the one I'm more familioar with. I found that I remembered the main codes and most of the special moves and Fatalities which was surprising as I haven't played MKT or any other MK game other than MKDA for over two years.

Have fun!

You read my mind!! The lack of boss fatalities is forgivable on the PSX version, but the load times are not. I wish I still had my N64 to play Trilogy on. Overall the graphics are better on the PSX version along with the sound, but the N64 version won't bore you to tears with loading times. Good thread, but belongs in the Classic MK Forum for future reference.

Ohh tell me about it. The worst was for Shang Tsungs morphs, it totally ruined the fight.

I have a playstation but my local video store only has MK: TRILOGY for the N64 so I'm getting it on that, I've never played any MK Games before except MK: DA and MK: Tournament Edition but when I saw that MK: TRILOGY was on the N64 plus I saw this ad in the Shopper that said "N64 with 10 games only $100 bucks". I called the people and they said they would take $80 so I'm in good luck. I wish their was a Playasation version where I live cause I too am more familiar with the controls of it, I have never had a Nintendo 64 this will be my first so if there are any secrets about the console let me know.wink

I hear ya bro. If I played as Shang I put on the limited morph option, and usually picked the ninjas. At least that gave you more morphing options than the others with no load times. The human ninjas btw...not the cyborg ninjas.

You'll love your N64. It's a good machine. I like it better than the stupid Game Cube, and I still have mine hooked up and play it once in awhile. Oh and MK:T for 64 is pretty good. As for 64 secrets, none that I know of except for you said you're more familiar with the PSX controllers, so it will likely take you a little bit to get used to the controller. I know when I played my freind's PSX it took me awhile to get used to the difference in the controls. BTW, what are the 9 other games you're getting?

It said in my shopper N64 with 10 games, I'm getting those ten games then I'm going to my video store to rent MK: TRILOGY, I don't know what the ten games are but the lady on the phone said they were all bought last year so hopefully there will be some good ones.
