"Strict" carding policy? That system will still have holes in it no matter how strict they make it. A kid with the money could simply get an older friend or relative and ask him/her to buy the game for 'em. I know that if somebody asked me to do 'em the favor, I would. Whether I know the person or not does not matter. All that matters is that I get a small profit The only way to make sure that kids who SHOULDN'T be playing the game is for the parents/guardians to keep tabs on what they play.

P.S. BTW, Marcel, I thought you should know. In that link you gave to that thread you made, the actual rating you talk about in your final post there is AO, NOT A.

HA HA! I was RIGHT! My prediction came true! I made the threat speculating on whether or not MK:D would make the news, and, sure enough, the time has come! Nothing sells games like controversy! Fatality.

Hehe, as soon as MK:D comes out in Europe, I'll stock up on copies and sell them for tenfold in Germany (it'll probably be banned there).

Still I think it doesn't help. As many people already said, you can just ask someone older to buy it. Even if they ban the game, there'll always be ways to get it (internet, black market,...).

I would have never thought this would've made MKSecrets and Illusion argue. Oh well.

On topic, I don't think that MK or Doom are as bad as Grand Theft Auto. All MK is is blood and gore while you fight. Doom is shooting up aliens and gore flies out of them. Grand Theft Auto, well, is hookers, language, blood, sex scenes, and other stuff.

I don't mind if the government does anything with violent videogames, because my mom will buy the games for me.

This doesnt bother me in the slightest firstly im 20 so the age isnt an issue and secondly i dont live in the usa so that isnt either. But when will this people get over themselves the only people who care are the overly conserative old gits who dont like to see anybody have fun, if any thing violent video prob do more good than harm.

This isn't a surprise.CNN is pretty liberal.I say parents should take more responsibility for there kids actions.After all most kids learn from there parents.

I feel it is the parent's responsibility to decide what is right or wrong for their children to view, say, or play. Playing violent video games does not tell a NORMAL person to go out and kill a cop, slap a woman on the street and call her a whore, or take a rope with a sharp point on the end, throw it at their head and rip the head off while screaming, "GET OVER HERE"!! FCC and other lawmakers such as this person need to step down.

Things like the V-chip allow parents to control what they see on television and I support that kind of an initiative because it leaves the choice up to the parent without forming a blockade as to what younger people can buy. The way things are going we are going to need laws to tell us when we can eat and sleep.

Do these guys realize that they stand no chance in their argument. They stand about as much chance as Michael Jackson's lawyer (OK bad joke). It doesn't matter what they say, kids are still gonna buy violent video games. Why? you overprotective parents ask. Because kids want to have fun. Another thing, why video games? There are a ton of movies with violence, blood, gore, sex scenes, drug use, etc. Look at Friday the 13th; every movie it's the same thing, big guy in hockey mask turns teens into guacomole. But do any old politicians care about that? NO! They assume that only responsible adults would watch those movies, when teenagers and kids watch them too. And yet they always aim at video games. Oh sure, you're playing as the thief, or murderer, or whatever, but if you were, after you were done with the game, going to go out and chop people's heads off, then you were already mentally unhinged. It doesn't matter how young you are, it matters how sane you are. But in life, you don't get extra lives, you don't get restarts. If you die. It's over.

Yeah we can all debate this with politicians and each other as much as we bloody feel like but i think that's pretty much the bottom line, and for reasons i don't really care about, the people responsible for this shit can't see it. And here goes the government again, making rules and laws to restrict and control 100 percent of the people, when in actual fact less than 1 percent of the people "need" this rule/law (or whatever the hell it is) in place, yay!
