Check it out.
The story is that a man dressed as Jar Jar Binks enters a subway and starts irritating a few people. He gets too close to someone, who warns Jar Jar to stay away, and when Jar Jar approaches again, the man and his two friends attack him, and when they realized they're being recorded, they run out of the metro.
What are your thoughts about this? For starters, the guy played Jar Jar very well, in that he was super annoying and people wanted to beat him, but then again, the guy warned him to stay away, and Jar Jar violated his personal space and the man became aggressive. Jar Jar was told to leave him alone, and he didn't; the man wanted to be left alone and he wasn't. It seems clear that Jar Jar was an idiot for poking a sleeping bear.
But then again, even if Jar Jar was annoying, all the guy needed to do was shove him away, not punch him, not beat him to the ground, and not have his two friends join the fray. If the guy felt threatened with Jar Jar near him, fine, but this was excessive. "You show me someone who has to fight, and I'll show you someone who's run out of ideas." He had a lot of better options than, "come on boys, let's beat this guy up, 3-on-1."
Another thought is that the video was posted March 31st, and tomorrow/today depending on your time zone is April Fool's Day. Could this be an elaborate hoax to gain more popularity and recognition for Improv Everywhere? It's possible that it is an elaborate prank, but at the same time, they could receive a very negative backlash if it turns out it's nothing but a joke.

I think you're missing one important potential motivation for the attacker's behavior, in an otherwise solid analysis: Jar Jar Binks is a terrible character, and that assulting this man in costume would be the best thing the attacker could do to express his dissatisfaction with "Episode 1" and the $10 he was robbed of, short of him actually finding George Lucas and kicking him in the gonads. The attacker obviously didn't have the capital to fund such an endeavor, therefore, assaulting this costumed comedian was the second best avenue of expression to take. It's really a open-and-shut case.

I thought Darth maul was gonna ruin some people. I laughed pretty hard when he came rolling in.
nothing though...
I suppose both are at fault.

It's the same rules as the Hollywood Super Heroes that go up and down Hollywood Bv. They only work on tips and the people who get their pics taken don't have to pay them, but if the people tell the character to step back, they have to or else they get arrested. It's kind of like the whole "Don't feed the animals" rule as well..never know which animal might be in an angry or very hungry mood.
I didn't watch the vid, though, but to me that's what it sounds like. Hollywood Batman's arrested on several occassions..lol
He's too aggressive with the public

If you check the links in the descriptions now, it's been confirmed as an April Fools Joke.
The guys that gave him the beating were in on it, and they informed everyone on the train ahead of time.
