I purchase from Dell all of the time for business purposes.

All dealings with them are top notch, unless it's a telephone call. They have terrible telephone customer service. It take at a minimum of 30 minutes to answer the phone (on hold music is shit too!!), and then they can't sort the problems out. This has happened to me no less than 10 times in the past 6 mths. Not from technical issues, but from billing issues that the company had.

So if you have any tech issues, use their email form. They will respond within a couple of hours.

The reason why they have shitty customer telephone service is that they're being handled overseas more. India is one country that's has people handling customer service. Like someone half the world away can understand what's going on with your computer.

HP is a good alternative.

I know they are handled from India.
I always complain about that when they finally do answer.

Without fail, everytime I need them to call me back for some reason, they will call AFTER business hours. I have had them call at 6:30pm, and as late as 9:30pm to discuss business issues!! Like i am working at that time of night... They need major improvements on that front.

What also shits me about it is that they pretend that they are from Australia, by using Australian slang like:
'G'day mate' and 'no worries'.

Whatever you do, don't buy an HP. My parents have bought 3 of them since I was a kid and they only last a year if you are lucky. Dells and Alienware are the way to go, if you want cheap Dell has computers as cheap as $400 when they are having sales. Alienware is almost as good as a Dell XPS for gaming.
