I don't know much about Goku other than the fact that he's on Dragonball Z and therefore sucks balls. Superman wins without batting an eyelash.

If people thought Krillin would barely lose to Thor why would Goku EVER lose to Superman?

I know Superman is "The Man of Steel", therefore means he's super powerful. However, Goku's strength and energy/power level is on a much greater scale than Marvel's.

Think of how much stronger Goku has gotten throughout the series... He's taken out an opponent capable of destroying a planet and making an entire race extinct with ONE finger (Frieza's supernova).

Goku, no doubt. Doesn't even need SSJ in my opinion but that could be a little biased...

Superman. He is basically God.

Superman would get punched into another reality and everyone would think he'd be dead.
He would return later and kill Goku. Goku would then return via dragonball wish and kill Superman- except that it wasn't really superman, it was a superman robot clone.
The real superman would arrive and kill Goku- but not really, Goku was just transported to another realm thanks to Kami. He would train and return, and kill Superman- though actually what really happened to Superman was he got hit with a kamehameha so hard that he traveled back in time.

It depends on what Goku's power level is, what is his super Saiyan level, is Superman influenced by the yellow sun giving him strength and is he affected by kryptonite (+ scriptwriter). Superman has been provided with numerous weaknesses since the beginning but one of the most important things here is that Superman isn't inclined to kill whereas Goku is.
Superman's victory would basically be either burying the opponent deep into the ground or sending them to the phantom zone. Superman is also capable of sending a planet away, just for you to know. A super hero has got frailties though and Goku isn't one. If it's about a Mortal Kombat fight...
I'm falling to the Goku bandwagon. Goku is more furious. Just Saiyan.

When you're dating someone who knows every single episode by heart and tells you how much power over 9000 can be like, you'd get the feeling that he could obliterate a planet just by punching something on it.

Goku from almost any given Z saga could break Superman. Perhaps in the very beginning of the Saiyan Saga Goku would lose, but that's about it.
Ya know, that response was unnecessarily elaborate. Better put: Goku would stab Superman in the brain.

Anybody who votes Goku simply doesn't know enough about Superman. The only reason this keeps coming up at all is because many people are just ignorant about Superman since so few people actually read comic books. Seriously, the guy can vaporize a solar system...and survive in the empty space left behind. He once traveled across a galaxy in the time it took Lois Lane to blink. He moves faster than any DBZ character has ever remotely approached, has feats of strength far greater in power than any DBZ character has demonstrated, and to top it off, he's also smarter, having built security robots almost as powerful as he is. He's also arguably a better martial artist having trained extensively in both Kryptonian fighting styles as well as with Wonder Woman for a very long time.

It's barely even a question and the only reason it's even remotely a contest is because half the people who've seen DBZ haven't read a Superman comic since he died in 1993. Please, people, watching Superman: The Animated Series and Justice League (shows in which Bruce Timm specifically admitted to severely powering him down from the comics) isn't even the tip of the iceberg.

I know a decent amount of superman's story the reason i chose Goku was cause of my distain for the "man of steel"

a story with a super hero with all that power is basically useless since the dude can FREAKING REVERSE TIME by flying fast enough

Everything. Knowing how strong Superman can really be, is it really fair to pin him against anyone? that is totally unfair in my opinion

It's an unfair comparison for sure. Superman is on a whole different level than Goku. And you can dislike the comparison. But the question was "who would win." Not "who you like more."

Also, Superman can be beaten. Ignoring Batman or Lex Luthor enacting some kind of chessmaster plot, if we're talking purely brute force, a good Green Lantern could arguably do it. The Flash certainly can. Not a small number of equally (or more) powerful characters. Some characters who have a propensity for sapping Superman's energy ala Parasite, etc. It's just that Goku simply lacks any of the tools necessary to win a straight fight.

How can you compare two immeasurable forces objectively?
And if you think about it the whole Goku vs Superman scenario is meant to be about brute force only. If it was battle of the minds Superman would take it hands down

SS2 Goku beats Superman

He survived.

Meanwhile Goku died from Cell blowing himself up.

He survived.

SSJ2 Vegeta turned to ash from an explosion that left a small crater.

He survived.

There's good reason to believe that no Dragon Ball character can fully withstand the heat of the sun. Cooler couldn't and, in DBGT, Goku is clearly put in danger by the four star dragon (6000 degrees Celsius, roughly the sun's temp.) while Superman's heat vision cannot even be measured (in other words, orders of magnitude hotter than the sun). Superman not only can tolerate 6000 degrees Celsius, he regularly bathes in it.

He can also hold a black hole in his bare hands.

It's just silly to make the comparison. It'd be like asking "Who'd win at chess, Barack Obama or Anatoly Karpov?" And then having people say Obama simply for the fact they don't know who Karpov is or what he's done.

Who the hell is Karpov? And why does everyone who voted for Goku automatically get assumed they don't know much about Superman? They could be the Stan Lee of DC and they could still possibly vote for Goku.
