Just bored and wanted to see if anyone else here longboards or skates and share your BEST experiences/WORST experiences!
Also please share more about this hobby/profession such as your board setup, favotire places to skate, whatever pops up in your mind!.. if you so choose, ill go first
I'm a longboarder trying to get sponsored so I can fullfil my dream of someday becoming a professional longboarder. I'm out practicing about um... 6 hours a day on average. I'm intrested in freeriding (doing tricks, sliding, in a more enclosed area) but I also love to bomb hills! I currently purchased a Loaded Dervish with Paris 180 trucks and Orangatang Durian's and put my own custom grip tape and well.. I love it!
My best experience was probably when I went down my first hill at 30mph, it was very scary and I got speed wobbles and had trouble because I was unexperianced and didn't know how to handle it but I made it down safely and it was very rewarding
Another favorite of mine was when me and my friend went out around 3am and bombed hills and just hung out having a good time riding on our boards and another time we went out around 10pm and met some girls at a park, fun stuff!
(The two stories above took place 1 year ago)
More recent experiances was probably when I landed a Ghostride Kickflip, or when I learned how to tiger claw off a 5 stair!
My worst experience was when mu friend and I decided to go down a steep hill for his birthday and it was scary but.. we went for it. We were going to fast and we both knew that but it was to late and we were going to fast that we couldn't carve (we weren't as experienced as we are now). We would've made it, hadn't there been two speed bumps plotting my demise. The first one shook me up and the second made me loose control and fall off.. I got bad road rash and cuts and had to be rushed to the hospital and well.. it sucks. Especcially cleaning the cuts afterwards because the bandaged got stuck to my exposed flesh... *shivers*
My friend made it down the hill successfully somehow and gave me shit about it.. that is until he got his mouth shut. Because he broke his jaw. (mwuahaha)
Anyways, tell me about your boarding life!

Skateboarding was the thing to do circa 2005-2006. It was a short lived hobby my freshman and sophomore years of high school. My friends all still skateboard. I'd rather just film and photograph for them.
Best experience: probably my first drop down into the half pipe.
Worst experience: falling, skidding, seeing bone.

I was always too pussy to goe down a five stair let alone a ramp but my best experience was probly doing a nollie heelflip on one of the big old skool boards they use to skate bowls, and worst was probly bombing down a hill and eating it badly but during my epic fall the camera flew out my hand and passersby in a vehicle were'nt hesitant to add insult to injury and indeed run over the camera. Haha

Never did skatboard or longboard, but I do have an injury story from a skateboard regardless, My neighbor dared be to get on his skateboard and try doing some tricks (I wasl ike 9-10 at the time), got on and it slide right from underneath me and I fell right on my butt and head, never bothered with it again, I was sore for like a week lol.

I skateboarded for about 7 years. From 10-17 and it was some of the best times I've ever had in my life. I still have all my broken boards lying around somewhere. The best boards I ever owned were Toy Machine (I am a loyal pawn Ed). Those lasted for so long, were durable as all hell, and had great pop. I use to get home from school and watch Toy Machine's Good and Evil every day and then go skate until it was dark with my friends.
It all stopped though because one day I broke my arm doing something I shouldn't have even broken my arm doing. I was doing a BS Boardslide on a rail we set up in the middle of my friends driveway and wasn't really paying attention and fell right on my right arm and got a small fracture in it. That kind of killed skating for me. But what mainly killed it for me was all my friends stopped skating and were really too busy just smoking pot to be bothered. Living in a town where you have to drive out of your way to find a decent skate spot and having no one to skate with anymore will kind of kill your skating days.
Best moment: Landing a laser flip for the first time. I swear 360 flips I never could get for the life of me but these I could. I was always a heelflip person over kickflips.
Worst moment: falling and bailing happend a shit ton but breaking my arm wasn't the worst moment. At a skate park, i was rolling down a drop in and wasn't paying attention (common theme?) and leaned too far forward and fell off my board and went ass over tea kettle down the roll in. Then when I turned my head to look back, my board came flying at me and hit me in the right cheek bone. It hurt yeah but little did I know it chipped my bone cause anytime I smile now, you can see an indent from my skateboard.

Yea its somehow impossible to juggle getting high and skating, I know some people who could possibly be sponsered by now if they did'nt slow down.

Used to skate all the time when I was in high school but I got sick of my boards breaking along with getting hurt so I stopped. However it did really set in my head my love for video cameras and taking footage of everything around me. Movies are a huge hobby for me.
