MARLON BRANDO, respected screen and stage performer who raised the bar for every actor that followed, has died. He was 80-years-old. Brando's attorney confirmed to Entertainment Tonight the Oscar® winning actor passed away at a Los Angeles hospital.

Did you know he was so broke, Jack Nicholson was buying and bringing him groceries??

He was/is 28 million in debt, which is odd cause he used to be super rich.


In any event, major props for being in one of the best films ever, the Godfather.

Damn...that's sad. He was a great actor; "The Godfather" was a really good movie.

Kinda weird, though, I actually didn't know if he was still alive until now; I'd been wondering since I saw a rerun of a fairly recent Simpsons episode where Brando (not a guest appearence, but an impersonation by one of the regular voice actors) said he wanted to be listed in a record book as "greatest living actor." For some reason, I had thought he was dead, but I didn't really care enough to look it up on IMDb.com or something. But, now I know.

brando was awesome. he got paid more for his few minutes in the superman movie than did christopher reeve as superman was paid. gotta love colonel Kurtz and don corleone.

brando hated being written about and photographed. His personal life was his and he despised intrusion.

Wow...this is bad news sad He was one of my favorite actors and of course he played his best role in The Godfather (my favorite movies Part 1 and 2) he will be missed. RIP

He will always be remembered as that sweaty fat guy that was making passes at larry king. Oh and some movies as a fat guy. And as a skinny guy who could actually act 60 years ago.
