My thoughts?

FUCK EVERYTHING! I WISH I HAD MONEY AND WIFI SO I COULD ENJOY THE MASS EFFECTZ!

I'll be the saddest man on Earth if I can't cop the trilogy ended on release day. T_T

Why is getting a job so damn difficult?

I have been avoiding ME3 news, gameplay, and anything else. I want everything in ME3 to be a surprise.

I played the demo last night. Mostly so I could get the Omni-blade dagger tie in for Kingdoms of Amalur. It was my first time playing a Mass Effect game. I was kind of unimpressed with it to be honest.

Play Mass Effect 1 first. It's a proper trilogy, you can't expect to get into it with the final installment.

Believe the Mime. Although, I'll find it crazy hard to go so far back to experience the whole thing again.

Pretty much this. The demo is more about the action anyway and doesn't really give a good sample of what mass effect really is.

As for me I really enjoyed it. First of all, The game looks amazing.(at least in my untrained eyes)

Secondly. The combat is actually fun and soo much more fluid where as in ME2 it was a little clunky and it felt more like a chore.
And for once my squad doesn’t act like two incompetence who are helpless without my guidance. They can actually hold their own quite nicely and to my surprise have helped me out of some tight spots.

Also I loooved seeing my squad truly interacting with one another in the second part of the demo.
Sure they sort give a nod to one another on the battle field or in an elevator in ME1&2. And if they were ever in a cutscene with one another they usually were only ever acknowledging Shepard and playing Angel Devil.

This time however we actually see them acknowledge one another as comrades and joke around with each other. It really brought quite the smile to my face to see Wrex and Garrus shooting the shit.

Nevertheless, gameplay was never the strongpoint of the series.

ME1 anyone? Interchangeable planetside structures with the same layout, same three or four variants of enemies, I WILL DESTROY YOU I WILL DESTROY YOU I WILL DESTROY YOU I WILL DESTROY YOU I WILL DESTROY YOU... ad nauseam,

And pretty much two or three cooldown triggers and basically that is what ME1 was all about. Boring intermissions between short but entertaining as hell cutscenes and dialogues.

ME2 mixed it up a little at the cost of simplyfying things for those who cannot keep ten variables in their heads. Sadly, this trend should have been curbstomped years ago, but gamers are all inclusively idiots.

I got it on my Xbox 360 and its basically the same demo that was previously shown but I like it. Gave me a feel on how much they improved the controls, especially since I was doing one last play through of ME1 and ME2 to get another char ready.

As for ME3 being your first ME game, it should not be a problem. I believe the will be including the 'comic book' option of creating a history. Not as detailed as playing the previous games, but should be interesting. I got the one for Me2 just because I wanted to check it out. And it did pretty much cover the major decisions, but some of the minor ones that may mean something were missing. If ME3 was my first game, I wouldn't bother looking for the other two until you know you really like it. Just remember, the controls will not be as smooth in the previous games, graphics not as nice and in ME1 the gear system is a pain.

Reading up on the series' plot it definitely has an interesting story, just the gameplay isn't my cup of tea.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the multi-player co-op. I started playing it last night and it's really a lot of fun. It's basically a Horde Mode where you and 3 other people face off against wave after wave of various enemies. Most multiplayer fun Ive had since Left4Dead.

Because the core base wasn't interested in multiplayer. I'll try it later. Had to get my bearings with controls first.

Single player section was awesome, but the later mission was hella repetitive.

All in all, I like the improvements made to the game. The cover system is better (although i've rolled out of cover and into death a few times) and the enemies seem to be killed at a more reasonable rate. I swear enemies were like boss battles themselves before.

I'd love to know how the fuck I put my gun away. Can't stand running up and down corridors with my hands in front of me all day. Just looking at it makes my arms tired.

Mobility is finally strong and sliding over cover from a run is both fun and useful. Stopping to vault was a pain (not so much to make me quit ME2) and I'm happy Bioware steadily improves this series while other companies tend to rest on their dicks with their franchises.

Well, started playing the MP demo since there aren't any story spoilers or anything and I really enjoyed it. It astounds me that an RPG can be a better shooter than the myriad of COD wannabes that have come out over the years. I had a blast playing as a Krogan soldier. I just wish characters weren't unlocked on random circumstance purchasing the kits.

Well, I didn't think Multiplayer was bad at all.

It was basically Gears of War, only more fast paced.

Actually, it reminded me of my very enjoyable years of Battlfront II.

I'm also really good at it, so I just think the only reason I like it is because I'm not always getting owned.

I was able to hold way more than my own while playing the multiplayer but the there is just something about how it's done that I don't like.

Yeah exactly. I have three friends that are huge into Mass Effect like I am and we just played several hours of it and it was amazingly good. When you have a good team communicating and using their powers correctly and in conjunction with one another? Bliss.

Well, I updated the first post, because instead of editing in my opinion, I'll just post it here.

The things I liked:

1. The music. Huge Clint Mansell fan. When I heard someone else was doing the music for 3, I was very upset, but when I heard it was HIM. You wouldn't believe how stoked I was. It sounds great, so far.

2. In to and out of cutscenes/conversations. In 1 and 2, it was very choppy, but with only a small change, the conversations flow straight in from the gameplay. Nice camera work, here.

2. Gameplay. I loved ME1's gameplay. I enjoyed 2' s as well (I got why they changed it, but I still liked overheating weapons) And while I know some people don't share that opinion, and thought it should still be more action oriented, I wasn't one of them. I wasn't against it, though. Anyway, it turned out alright. With the addition of rolls and improved running, it only makes the already good gameplay that much more entertaining and involving.

3. The Alliance. I really hated Cerberus, and enjoy killing them in this installment.

4. The Reapers. Well obviously, but let me clarify. ME1 was all about them, and you even saw one at the end (epic). ME2 was so... I mean, they had 3 story missions, the rest was about gathering a team. And most of them had zero connections to the reapers. I was glad to see them ALL OVER THE PLACE.

5. Ashley Williams. I pretty much went in to fanboy mode here. I just couldn't stand Miranda in ME2. I much preferred Ashley. I've never heard more than 2 lines from Kaiden. Always let him die. Mainly because I hate Carth.

6. Multiplayer. At first I thought it was a little too much like GOW3, but now I see it for what I think it was intended to be. Sure it has some basic shooter mechanics and all that, but the powers and the maps and the weapons, they all make it feel very fun, and very Mass Effect. And, like The_Truth said, with a well coordinated team, it's really fun. Can't help but bark orders as if the world depends on them. (In my living room of course)

7. The cutscenes/Conversations. They look better than ever. Instead of having Shepard standing here, and (insert name) standing there, they actually move, the camera moves. It looks much more cinematic and organic.

What I wasn't crazy about:

1. A fresh start. A little too fresh if you ask me. I understand it's not as easy to sell a third installment in a very decision based franchise as it is a standalone game, but its Mass Effect. I pretty much assumed from the start that one MUST play 1 and 2. But whatever,

2.Some of the animations still look a little stiff to me. Running looks odd. Also, I think Mass Effect could benefit from more motion capture. BioWare just simply doesn't use a lot of it. But hey, they are still pretty good at Key Framing,

I have more I want to say, but most of the stuff I didn't like I don't think I can judge until the final game comes out. I'll wait and see,
