well it's certainly introducing a lot of new things to the action genre, I love the idea of picking of soldiers while hanging from a tree, and the croc/alligator head is genius.

The camofauge(SP?) system seems to be working well, especially when the guards can be standing a yard away and still can't see you.

Yeah it looks pretty damn good. However, I won't be getting it as i've sold my PS2 for lack of decent games.

It will probably be out on XBox after a year or so with extras

Don't turn this into a console war, I could've said if you wanted a console that didn't have a lack of games why did you buy an X-Box, but I haven't (PS2 does have twice as many games out than X-Box though, and half of X-Box's good games are out on the PS2 anyway)

We do'nt know who it is we'll be playing in Snake Eater, it might aswell be Snake. Hideo Kojima is a deceptive man, don't forget that. (Can you spell Raiden? You know, a blonde Fox-Hound rookie that, while being unknown until MGS2 release, is the players character for 85% of the game?)

And yes, the Caiman( i think it is a Caiman, but it might aswell be a crocodile) head is genius

Big Boss hasn't even given his genes to be cloned yet, nevermind Solid Snake being born

His eye is damaged in the middle of the game, the same eye Big Boss wears a patch over in later games, Solid Snake has never had any eye problems in the Metal Gear series.

Raiden wasn't around till the 80's (correct me if I'm wrong on that I'm guessing and haven't played MGS2 for a while)

The Cold War in the 60's is where Big Boss gets his reputation as the greatest soldier of his time, he'd be a young age as is Ocelot.

Kojima may be deceptive but that has proven to backfire on him as proven by the hate for Raiden by MGS fans, he's not going to pull another "I want fans to see Snake's greatness from another character's view" on us. That is Big Boss.

I was thinking about the story for MGS3, my guess is that somewhere along the game Big Boss finds out about the Patriots (who are around since they are active after being dead for 100 years) (and this game is when Big Boss decides to start the whole Outer Heaven thing, to go against the power of the Patriots, just like Solidus does in MGS2), Big Boss has been sent into this situation unknowingly by the Patriots, they are using him like a puppet like they do with Solidus being the president and Snake in MSG1, history is repeating itself (Solid Snake is now going against the Patriots as his brother and father have done before him), the whole theme of "going back to the beggining" in MGS3 means going back to the first time someone rebelled against the patriots, and the irony of that Snake stopped Big Boss in Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake but now he is doing the same thing, and now The Patriots have picked their new puppet to defend them against the old verision of Solid Snake who will turn on them when he finds out the truth, Olga's child.

I love going through the story of the series I guess I'm one of the minority who listened to the patriots last speech to Raiden before his fight with Solidus, Kojima is a genius when it comes to the story.

I'm not all that excited. I am an MGS fan, but I would've liked to see them continue the story, instead of making a prequel about what BB was doing in a jungle that made him a legendary soldier.

MGS1's plot was awesome, MGS2's was good, but convuluted, and MGS3's seems a little "out there".

Though the gameplay looks solid, the camo system is awesome, etc.

I'm sorry but did you just completely ignore my last post, it isn't Solid Snake it's the young verison of Big Boss, the guy who Snake was cloned from, at the time his codename was Snake, I've said many points that prove that it is him.

yes MGS 3 will bring Metal gear back to the top. i already think MGS 2 is the best, but everybody is praising splinter cell 2 as the best. (i hate splinter cell, you cant do anything. i kill a guy and i lose? your given guns but all you use them for is taking out lights. and the hit detection sucks. a guy i shot in the head set off an alarm, making me lose. oh well i sold it cause i just tought it sucked and multiplayer was a good idea but i just wasnt good at it) All i can say is that Splinter Cell 3 better not steal MGS 3's well deserved light. Yes because big boss's clone was base on solid snake the person ur playing as in MGS3 is Big boss But I don;t know why they jumped from 03 to 1960-64. THe graphics looks like X box too its awesome(Icedout I highly doubt you to see MGS3 on Xbox. Being its meant for sony just like FF I mean u don;t see Halo on sony but then SOny's has a game just like it now I forget the name tho)
But back on track I believe they went back to 1960 probably to show what happened. This game has a lot of things Metal Gear used to lack but now its back also I heard if u have PS2 Online u can download Camo.
The only metal gear solid game on Xbox was that dumb one of MGS2 where u could ride a skateboard and what not that was stupid. It ruined a great game.

I've no idea about any form of a metal gear being in this game, I don't think they were invented when this game is set, but it has gone back to the basics of stealth action thankfully, just got to find some more information about bosses and gameplay before it comes out, and I'll be happy

Hey dude check out Xplay U'll love it Metal gear's in there in the trailler they show like 4 hinds carrying it and snakes like METAL GEARR! lol U get to fight a lot of hind's too they have gun emplacements its cool lol.

Also another cool thing I saw on the Xplay show 260 was that snake was like hiding and the soldiers had Torches and they were torching him out and he was on fire and the next thing he jumped on the roof and started shooting his gun he also was still on fire. It was awesome think if u could get a hold of one of them lol. I'll go look for more info to post here.

I'm looking forward to m.g.s.3, its gonna be a cool game. I played the first and second and loved them both,actually it was my best friend that showed me how cool the metal gear series is and he was quite right.

1)The eyepatch that Big Boss wears has been rmoved from newer trailers. So now this "Snake" has two eyes. I guess Kojima did this to fool the less observent fans.
2)I heard info on the new Metal Gear. Instead of it being a bi-pedal mech, it's supposed to be some kind of portable missile silo on a Shuttle Crawler. Which is pretty gay since the defenition of a Metal Gear is a Bi Pedal mech with Nuclear Launching capabilities.

both points are wrong based on the fact the game is set in the 1960's.

his eyepatch hasn't been removed, it isn't there yet, he damages his eye in the later stage of the game.(Which you can find in the first MGS3 trailer)

It isn't "gay" at all. For the 1960's a portable missile silo on a Shuttle Crawler is pretty state of the art, and the definition of a metal gear being a Bi Pedal mech with Nuclear Launching capabilities can only be applied to when it was created, in MGS1 which is around 30 years into the future. Any version of a metal gear in this game will be the first version of any metal gear.

Don't forget MSG3 is a prequel to all the metal gear and metal gear series, anything in any other Metal gear and metal gear solid games haven't been invented or happened yet.

It's looking better each time i see it, i'm not sure what trailer everyone else has seen, but the one i saw kicked ass, i'm glad that they have gotten rid of the codec screens and instead use cut scenes, tho i'm guessing this type of techonology wouldn't be around in the sixties and such wouldn't be right to have them in the game, the ability to use gun turrets is cool, as is the close combat disarming moves, but most of the trailer was cut scenes like they used for MGS2 and some of them were not in the final game, i'm thinking the same thing here, i'm hoping what i have seen isn't just to show off what they are able to do with the graphics engine etc, as for is it bigboss or snake it looks like more bigboss to me, the trailer i saw ended at a funeral of somekind with a snake look-a-like saluting and a tear rolling down his cheek, he also had a patch over one eye and as mentioned bigboss is the only one to have a patch over one eye.

The trailler I saw was on g4 techtv they showed 4 5-10 min lon trailers on xplay.

Another thing do you all think Konami is ending this game done with going back in the past to end this great game. This is the 3rd and final metal gear wtf liquid was still alive in MGS2 u think MGS3 would go after him but it goes back in the past there should at least be one more MGS to end this great series.
