the site mannny link is nonsense.
here's what i found
Notwithstanding recent stories in the news media and on the Internet, Selective Service is not getting ready to conduct a draft for the U.S. Armed Forces -- either with a special skills or regular draft. Rather, the Agency remains prepared to manage a draft if and when the President and the Congress so direct. This responsibility has been ongoing since 1980 and is nothing new. Further, both the President and the Secretary of Defense have stated on more than one occasion that there is no need for a draft for the War on Terrorism or any likely contingency, such as Iraq. Additionally, the Congress has not acted on any proposed legislation to reinstate a draft. Therefore, Selective Service continues to refine its plans to be prepared as is required by law, and to register young men who are ages 18 through 25.

So everyone dont sweat it,theres not going to be a draft so relax

If that link was true, you would be hearing that everywhere, because some one would have leaked it. It looked like it was made to frighten people so they won't vote for The President in the upcoming election.
If they where going to bring back selective service they would be making a lot of people angry, and if the President is pushing this and if it is in congress, don't you think John Kerry would try to use it as ammo in the election.

Sure, Canada is always open to you, come on up! I disagree with raven though, now this is my opinion and I'm entitled to it, but I don't support the war in Iraq, never did. Sure Saddom is out of power, that's all joly and good, but if Bush had any brains between those goofy ears, he'd pull the troops out now to stop any further embarassement. Let the Iraqi's live their lives, they don't want to trade one dictator for another. This is only my opinion, feel free to disagree. I like the States, but I don't like Bush.
How many more troops have to die before we realize WE CAN'T WIN?
Heaven forbid if we were to swallow our pride and get our troops out of there. This egotistical stance we take on overwhelmig matters needs to stop.
We think we're ridding the world of terrorism, but by invading Iraq, we're motivating more terroist groups to form. I'm sorry, but this IS another Vietnam. Heck, we're not even invading the RIGHT country. I thought Bin Laden was in Afghanistan...WTF????
Sure, we can win the war on terrorism, much like we won the war on AIDS, drugs, and crime...what a fucking joke. It must be nice to keep "fighting" a war in which you don't actually fight Let the ones who declare war go out and fight it.
