Can we talk about other MMA orgs, like PRIDE and KOTC, too? UFC is kind of pissing me off with the media ban and all.
Anyway, fav fighter...hmmm....I really enjoy watching Mayhem, dude is crazy, lol. Also, I'll admit it, I'm a band wagon Franklin fan. Though, I think everybody is, lol. He kind of came out of no where. He's always had the skills, just using them in smaller orgs. I'm also a big Riggs fan, though, he likes to pussy foot around with comments. The fact that he used to be 300 lbs and is now kicking ass makes me give him huge props.
Soooo...
Franklin - Amazing skills and a great dude.
Mayhem - Crazy SOB who just loves to bang and have a good time.
Riggs - Decent fighter who has overcome a lot in his life.
Leban - Home town boy and he's matured by BOUNDS since TUF1. He WAS highly underated, but I think people are seeing that he's for real.
Belfort - The phenom will always have a place in my heart and a PPV coming from my wallet. God bless him and I hope the situation with his sister has closure.
I am A HUGE Belfort fan, but as we know, he's a mental midget right now. To bad, I love watching that dude. Heh, kind of funny, though, he's a BJJ black belt yet is a striker first and foremost. I read something that was posted a while ago on another forum:
"Vitor's BJJ is like the nucleus of an atom, people say it exists but no one's actually seen it." lol, too good.
Anywho, what do you dudes think of TUF2? There isnt' any drama, and Hughs is a little bitch, But I think more fighters have potential this time around - at least the ones who didn't quite.
Oh, and Shammy Vs. Saku at PRIDE30!!!!!!!! That shit is going to be off the hook!!

Yeah, that's cool. I changed the topic, so talk about all MMA organizations.

I believe whoopass.tv has gannon/kimbo, though, they have some weirded-out, points buying-to-download system. Might be able to find it on a torrent or newsgroup. Heh, 55 was the first UFC I hadn't watched in about the past 10. I heard it kinda sucked ass, though. I'll have to download the matches and find out. The card did look shitty, lol.
Fight night was tight. The Blanket got KTFO'd and RNC'd like the bitch that he he is. I really, really want to like Josh. He is going to be REALY good if he just keeps doing his thing. But he's the king of punk-ass.
Oh, and Riggs called out Leben, so that match up should be coming around soon!!

The only fight I even cared about for UFC 55 was Griffin vs. Sinosic. Riggs vs. Leben should be pretty kick ass. That'll give Leben a good test to see what he's really made of.

Aight, so Pride is this sunday. Match ups i'm looking forward to are...
Rampage vs. Yokoi - Both are coming off a loss. Yokoi has lost his last three, though, was on one hell of a streak beforehand. Rampage has been in a slump, but if "Rampage" comes, Rampage wins, IMO.
Shamrock Vs. Sakuraba - Both legends, it's going to be so nastalgic seeing these two national MMA icons go at it. Shamy is coming off his loss to Franklin, of which he looked like a total tool, sadly.
Saku is coming off his loss during the GP - forget opponent, to lazy to look it up, but I think it was Arona...by thumb in wound...fucking little bitch. Anyway, Saku is back from training in brazil with Wandy and those boys, so he should have much more refined skills. It's going to be a great match, so long as Saku doesn't get caught in a random heel hook right away, haha.
Most othe rmatches are going to be fun. I hope I get to see Hunts Atomic Butt Drop of Doom!!! lol
Also, the korean Judo fighter that got owned by Saku in the first round of the GP, he'll be fighting in this one. He's 0 - 1, but come on, his first MMA fight against Sakuraba? That's fucking balsy. He's an olympic, Judo, Gold medalist, so he should do well if fed the right oponents to build up his striking.. I remember him taking the strikes of Saku durring the GP, he fucking collapsed, TKO by ref stoppage. Though, he got up with a look on his face like "wtf, that wasn't as bad as I thought!!" lol, so, I look forward to seeing him again.
TUF2 is on tonight. Can't let this thread die!!! Long live MMA!!!

All right, of the first two confirmed fights for UFC 56 what are your predictions?
Middleweight Championship
Rich Franklin vs. Nate Quarry
My pick - I'm going to have to say Rich Franklin is going to hold on to the belt after this fight is over. Nate Quarry has got the skills, but I think he still might be too un-experienced to defeat Franklin.
Welterweight Championship
Matt Hughes vs. Karo Parisyan
My pick - Hughes all the way, I'm sorry in my opinion, Matt's going to hold on to that belt for a long long time.
Fight I hope happens - Chuck Liddell vs. Forrest Griffin
Now I don't think Forrest could take him yet, but give him a year or two and I think he will definately be capable of stripping the Iceman of his title, if noone else gets their hands on it first. Like he said, "If I fought Chuck, I'm not saying that it wouldn't end with my face in the canvas, but it would be a good fight until then."

Hey guys. Im into bodybuilding and i work out everyday. I dont want to brag but Im cut up real good and my bicep is 17 inches and every since Ive been working out ive had this thing for the ultimate Fighting Championship. What do you guys think about it? Well anyway, I really have respect for the iceman chuck because he just plain kicks ass and hes unbeatable at this point. i got into the UFC even before he became the Light Heavyweight Champion. I took one look at him before he won and knew just by appearance hes a true baddass that no one should mess with. That mowhawk and tattoo on the side of the head and that goatee. Hes a bad man and currently my favorite and i think he'll have that belt for a looong time. I also like Matt hughs. Well let me know yalls favorite.

I really don't think anyone walking on this earth could beat Chuck Liddell's ass. I've seen that fucker do some amazing shit. He's a bad dude, and gets my vote.
I also liked Shamrock before he turned into the Mike Tyson of UFC. Dan Severn kicked ass too. Tank Abbott was nutty as they come, and the Gracie family is amazing.

If Chuck doesn't slip in an eye poke durring liddell/couture 3, then Randy slams him, works him into the cage and GnP's the shit out of him. Anyway, heh.
UFC is looking pretty decent in 06. They've brought some big names back. It's great to have Mir back. I'm uber stoked he's healed up and good to go. Though, I hate to say it, I'm not sure if Mir can take Arlovski. He's just turned into a beast, plain and simple.
If BJ gets back into shape then Hughes doesn't have a chance in hell. Both GSP and BJ can take him hands down, and the odds of him warding them BOTH off is highly unlikely. That, and Hughes having his cute little anit-canadian comments pointed towards every canadian fighter pisses me off - WAR GSP!!! And that's coming from an american, lol.
UFC welterwights are stacked as fuck. I'd love to see a welter tourny. Doubt it'll happen, though.
Arlovski has, what, two, maybe three more fights on his contract. He's already negotiating with pride - who's offered a bigger contract $$$ wise than the UFC. He needs to go to pride and fight legit heavies. Nobody in the UFC is really on par with him. Mir? Maybe, but I don't know. Arlovski in Pride = top tier.
Anywho, fav fighter? Meh, I'm a pretty big fan of Igor "slim daddy"
Vovchanchyn. I'm an eternal Belfort fanboy and am VERY excited that he won his Cage Rage match-up. Yeah, he beat a B level fighter, but hopefully he's finnaly gotten some closure with his sis and we can once again be bestowed by the phenom. Pretty big fan of Mayhem and Leben, too. Though, leben is a hometown boy, so meh.
Can't wait for NYE, that is one of the best looking cards in a very, very long time. Hopefully UFC has their shit together for 06.

Matt Hughes vs. Royce Gracie
Is anyone as psyched about this fight as I am? I don't know what to expect. Hughes is as strong as an ox, and is well versed in submissions. Gracie, as fans know, is one of the best jiu-jitsu fighters ever. I just don't see either one of these guys making the other tap out. I'm thinking it might turn into a slugfest.
My Guess: Hughes wins by split decision.
Brandon Vera vs. Assuerio Silva
Brandon Vera is a great Muay Thai fighter, and his kicks are very dangerous. Silva is a great jiu-jitsu fighter, but he also likes to strike. I say this one will be a stand-up war.
My Guess:Vera wins by KO.
Mike Swick vs. Joe Riggs
If anyone has watched Mike Swick fight, you know that he is a quick, exciting fighter. He is undefeated in his UFC career, and 2 of his three matches, he has knocked out his opponent in less than 30 seconds. Joe Riggs is a great striker, and he is well versed in submissions.
My Guess:Swick wins by TKO.
Diego Sanchez vs. John Alessio
Sanchez is pound for pound one of the strongest fighters the UFC has to offer. He should not underestimate Alessio though. He is an excellent kickboxer and has knockout power. I do not think he can stop Diego's takedown though.
My Guess:Sanchez wins by submission.
Other than that, I don't really have an opinion on the other fights.
What do you guys think about the main event?

When is this PPV? I keep looking it up, then forgetting.
I'm pretty excited for Gracie vs Hughes. I'm thinking it could boil down to a decision too, and if it does then Hughes will probably win. I'm not really sure what expect either to be honest, but it'll be great seeing Gracie back and I hope it's a good fight.
I'm interested to see how this Mike "Quick" Swick fellow goes too. I'm not sure whether his impressive record is luck or skill. I'd like to see somebody go the distance against him so I could see what he's got. His fight with Riggs should be good anyway.
Other than that, I don't really know much about the card. I'm pretty much just ordering this to see Gracie kick some ass, hopefully.
We do have an official MMA discussion thread on this board though... somewhere. It's pretty small and only frequented by a few users if you can be bothered searching for it. Meh. I can't.

I believe it's on the 27th of this Month.
Hughes/Gracie
Obviously it's a fight so anything can happen, but... Hughes picks Gracie up, slams him and proceedes to beat the shit out of him. Sorry royce, you are indeed a legend, but this isn't 1996. I don't even like Hughes, so I'll be rooting for Gracie to expose Matts "poor sub defense" but, I'm still seeing Hughes buy GnP.
Vera/Silva
I'm taking Vera in this one. He's new crew and on a streak. I really dont know much about Silva, though. He's put together from what I remember, but Vera has been impressive.
Swick/Riggs
From what I know, I've got to go with Riggs on this one. But swick has been impressive and living up to his nickname. Riggs by GnP or swick by sub, Even though I think both aren't shy of throwing down.
Sanchez/Alessia
Don't know much about Alessio, and even though I recognize his skill, I used to HATE Sanchez. Holy crap, that guy seamed like such a retard. Though, after his win over diaz and how he tried to give props to a non-profit charity for children and was cut off, I've been a fan ever since. He gave props to a noble calling and was dissed, so I hope he wrecks fucking house from here on out...but he's still retarded.
Gullard/Davis
Don't know shit about Davis and only know Gullard from TUF. Though, Gullard has been touted and he looks to be a beast physically, plus his home was owned durring Katrina...so Gullard by...mmmm.... I guess flying triangle.....
Fisher/Garcia
Don't know either, but quick search has Fisher by paper stats.
Sakara/Lister
Lister over dude with scary tatoos.
Gonzaga/Scherner
Scherner, simply because Gonzaga's UFC debut was probably the shittiest fight I have ever seen. Random Super man punches don't save chubby on this one. Scherner by not being boring.
Card seams kinda shitty at first, but it could have some exciting moments. I missed the openning round or Prides OWGP, so this UFC better be a sleeper that delievers.
After watching the Penn vs GSP fight, most of us that actively participate in MMA have concluded that if Penn wasn't so winded, the fight would've been stopped in Penns favor. If he comes back with the same gut, he will lose by decision again but after suffering a terrible loss to GSP, I'm willing to bet that Penn has been training harder and he will not have a gut problem today vs Hughes.
Hughes is well rounded and showed what is made of when he stayed on the ground and took control over Royce Gracie. Almost everyone was shocked. How can someone like Royce Gracie get controled by someone outside of his family? Hughes has trained harder and is alot stronger, quicker, and skilled now. BJ Penn won't have an easy time defeating him again especially if Matt Hughes stays humble and remembers not to underestimate the only person that beat him by a rear naked choke.
My prediction:
Penn by decision.
I see both of them being a little too cautious and the fight being dragged the duration of the fight. Penn, the hungrier of the two, will be percieved as the aggressor and will win by points.

This is one of the best events to date. This and the super bowl make for a pretty sweet weekend( colts will win it). Anyways for the few mma fans on here watchin it tonight I believe Crocop and Quinton will shut down their opponents and i belive Crocop will be the next champ. Give me your thoughts about UFC 67.
