How do you think the creators thought of the characters names... Like Kabal, and Mavado?

...and so on....

They're pretty creative, I mean c'mon. They won't ever be 100% unless Tobias comes back though.

Some of the names have meaning. Other I think were chosen because they sound cool.

Scorpion- In mythology, Greek or Egyptian, the scorpion was a creature used for revenge or protection.

Quan Chi- Means bad lifeforce

Sareena- means serenity

Goro, Kintaro, and Motaro's names mean something, I don't remember though.

Sheeva- Probably a play on Shiva the goddess of destruction(?)

Reiko- Means watchful, alert. I also heard there's a Japanese(?) myth where a character named Reiko fought giant demon spiders.

I think Kenshi means a student of Japanese swordsmanship.

I think there was a thread in Classic MK Discussion a while back that said Goro means "the fifth son of..." And I think Kintaro was the name of a Japanese mythological creature.

Ken means fist, Shi means death, maybe Kenshi means Fist of Death.

Mavado comes from Malvado which means evil in some language, spanish or smoehting.

I think Kabal comes from the word "Cabal" which means A number of persons secretly united for some private purpose.

A while back there was a video of making MK3, during sometime during the video said few MK team members sit down and have a "pow wow". They just all out names and write them down for a certain character. Of over that course ( days or how many times they do it for a character) they choose the name. So I guess that is the way they have done it, unless Boon,Tobias, or Vogel already had a name in mind.
