Mortal Kombat 7...early days but check this idea out and give us your opinion.
I know I know, its EARLY days but with all the talk about which characters should wave goodbye for the next game, I had a few thoughts that maybe you could give your opinions on:
In MK7 (whatever the title) what would you say to a totally revamped storyline where:
GOOD GUYS are running the tournement in Edenia. For example, the DK has been defeated and peace finally reigns in Outworld. Now now, hear me out. Since the DK and Kahn have been defeated, the tournement has to continue with the forces of good in control. The Champion (boss) could be Subzero, Scorpion, Kitana, Kung Lao, Rayden or someone good and the tournement fighters can be a good mix of evil doers and villians (with some heroes as the defenders) fighting to tip the scales of chaos back their way.
Imagine this as a line up of oldies: Shao Kahn, Noob Saibot, Shang Tsung return to win back the power. And defending it, and the tournement, Kung Lao, Subzero, Scorpion, Kitana.
But the whole point of this is to introduce a new generation of heroes and villians. Set it in Edenia amongst backgrounds remeniscent of MK1 and THEN...
...give EACH BACKGROUND A SECOND SKIN (like a second costume for the fighters) WHEN and IF you manage to clock the game with an evil fighter.
For example, you could have a stage like Tsung's courtyard in MK1, or his throne room, where you see the Champion (Kung Lao, Subbie, Rayden, Kitana, etc) watching on and then if you beat the game with Shao Kahn or someone the backgrounds CHANGE and become twisted and evil.
You UNLOCK AN ENTIRE NEW STYLE. And cooler still, the fighter you used to win the tournement becomes unplayable and the new boss and the boss becomes playable and it can rotate everytime you finish it.
How does that sound for an idea? Yay or nay?

It sounds nice and all, but i really don't like the idea of having the kharakter i beat the game with locked until i beat with another game. I dunno about you people, but when i choose a kharakter, i choose him/her/it because i like him/her/it. I don't want it locked.

As far as I'm concerned with the game. Every 3d fighter other than MK (Tekken, Virtua Fighter, DOA, ect.) have essentially kept their fighting engines intact, oly throwing in new features to imprive the complexity. I think that with MK:DA, and MK:D the Mortal Kombat franchise has finally come across a solid enough fighting engine to basically leave it unchanges from here on out in the series. What Midway, and Boon should now concentrate on for MK7 is to bring the graphics up to par with other fighters. If the game is already in developement, and the earliest the next gen consoles will be out is in 2 years, then it gives them 2+ years to redo and revam the entire graphics engine, to make all the character look ultra relistic. They really only need to do some minor engine changes/improvement over MK;D, with everything they are alreaddy adding to MK:D over MK:DA. Maybe add the ripping clothes that Boon wanted in MK:DA, and some sort of Limb damage like in Tao Feng. Thats all they really need to do to the series and I will be happy, along with the amount of content that they are putting into MK:D that they will put that amount, or more into MK7. I wouldn't want MK7 to turn out like MK:DA in terms of extras.
