movies you would like to see remade into a remake/reboot

I definitely agree with a Spawn remake and sorta agree with Candyman.
Hellraiser and Swamp Thing are two I'd like to see.

I've thought about this one before, as well. Ever read the original script? MUCH darker. I don't know how people would deal with Gizmo turning into Stripe, though.
For those who don't know the changes Spielberg made to the movie/script, the meal the mogwai have after midnight is under the christmas tree...and they don't hang the dog (Barney) up by christmas lights lol The dog IS the midnight snack. They get tossed in a duffle bag and put in the attic for the rest of the night, Billy and his dad go up the next day to destroy them but they're in cocoons which seem to be unbreakable. Later they hatch while Billy's at work and his mother ends up getting decapitated (head is thrown at Billy when he gets home). His friend Pete is dragged off from the christmas carolers and eaten as well. It's a good read
But Gremlins DO need a come back

Though I didn't read the initial darker version of the script, I did hear about these changes. Honestly, I'm glad they were changed. Those original scenes would have ruined the movie. "Gremlins" is so fantastic because it's a family movie that pushes it's own limits to the farthest possible extent and yet still manages to not exit the genre. Had they maintained the darker script, the film would have just been another horror/comedy creature feature (and would have fallen into 80s cult limbo along with Critters, Ghoulies, and the "It's Alive" sequels).
As for the remake idea, I'd prefer a sequel. I freakin' LOVED "Gremlins 2"!

I think they've been in talks of a sequel for ages, haven't they? As I said I agree about how people wouldn't accept Gizmo becoming Stripe. Billy was also a dick to him when he was a mogwai, seemed like Giz was jealous of the dog maybe? lol
They should make a slightly darker one, though. I didn't mind the second movie, but it was a little too comedic for a movie about vicious monsters, imo. But either way if they made another movie, sequel even, I'd be a happy boy. We've had the gremlins dvd on a lot here. I imagine CG would ruin a new movie, though, they should stick with puppets

In regards to the anti-remake/reboot crowd...
I consider remakes/reboots as a chance to improve on the original. Especially older movies when the censors were so bad that a married couple couldn't even sleep in the same bed or the special effects look were basically finger puppets.
Plus, there has always been remakes. How many Zorro movies, TV shows, etc has there been. Don't forget the silent screen era.
Same for Robin Hood, Miracle on 34th St, King Arthur, etc. Some remakes become the the classic that everyone assumes is the original, but isn't (ie the Errol Flynn version of Robin Hood).
I will admit some remakes are so bad just makes you want to gag just thinking about all the poor kids who will never bother seeing the previous versions, but that's the way the business is I guess.
As for remakes/reboots I want...
Sheena
Please if this is done, don't make her a air-headed blonde with perfect hair. She grew up in the Jungle for crying out loud.

Dear God Sheena what a horrible movie. TV series was ok though from what I remember of it.
They should Reboot Daredevil.

I know Sheena is a horrible movie...that why it needs a major remake.

I'd like to see any remake from the last ten years remade.
Then the remake remade. Then that remake of the remake remade. Until the entire calendar year is occupied by no more than twelve trademarked stories, endlessly being remade in a fasttracked spiraling descent into absurdity.
The kids will love it, the executives will be happy.

This is actually how the future of The Time Machine comes to exist.
If he'd been set up to look at a movie theatre, instead of a clothes store, he would've seen the posters gradually blur into a single, static title, changing only the faces around it.
