I have become insanely obsessed over this series, and it's easily the most engaging show I have ever watched. I began watching the series about a month ago on cartoon network and watched from episode 1-9. I realized 20 minutes a week would not be enough for me, so I seeked out ways to get episodes whenever I want. I found that source, and last tuesday I started at episode 10 and I am now at episode 83. I would be in the 100s, but my source's server is apparently down. Probably from me downloading 15 episodes a day..lol.

To get this baby kicked off, who are your top 5 favorite characters? Mine so far are(no real order).

1. Hatake Kakashi - Probably my favorite overall. He's my wallpaper, actually. I love his character, his intelligence and his bad assness. His sharingan adds to his coolness factor and he has some pretty dope fights such as his 2 duels with Zabuza.

2. Gaara Of The Desert - Back when I was a noobie this guy was by far my favorite character. Total badass, and the theme of torture and social inadequateness(is that a word?) is something I can relate to all too well. His powers are awesome, and his look may very well be my favorite of all the characters.

3. Rock Lee - Funny, awesome, strong. He's just the man. The theme of hard work is something anyone can relate to I feel, and I love almost all of his fights. Right now(at episode 83) he's still injured from his fight with Gaara.

4. Shikamaru - I really like his powers and his cool demenor. I can relate to him because I get medicore grades due to laziness, but I know for sure that I am, for the most part, mentally superior to a lot of people my age. I love his shadow powers, and I hope he develops to be a better ninja later on in the series.

5. Gai - I love Gai because he's strong and with Rock Lee he's hillarious.

I also like Kankurou, Shino, Orochimaru(his theme is bad ass as hell), Sasuke and many others.

Oh yeah, quick question *spoilers*

During the 3rd Hokage's fight with Orochimaru, he uses the Impure World Ressurection technique to bring back the 1st ,2nd and 3rd. As the coffins rise the Hokage says to himself that he can't let the 3rd coffin rise? Why is this? Is it because the 3rd coffin would be himself and that by destroying him that he'd automatically die? Or is it that the coffin would summor the 4th Hokage who's the most powerful of the 4?

4th Hokage, the Ressurection technique only brings dead people back to life, and the 3rd isn't dead, not that he can fight himself in any case

If you notice there's a plot-hole here.

How can the 4th's soul be ressurected when it is in possession of the Death God?

The 4th's soul going elsewhere would break the deal and Kyuubi would be released out of Naruto.

Nice.

I've stopped watching the anime for a good while, until atleast the anime goes back to the main storyline direct from the manga.

I've seen a few of those American versions, "Joootsu" sounds so wrong and the names are all western-like (Forename then Surname), ah well, they've done a good job with Sasukes voice actor though, but Naruto's american voice actor sounds like she (yes, she) isn't capable of changing Naruto's voice during the really serious parts like it'll always be the same annoying kiddy voice.

My favourite characters are Jiraiya, Orochimaru and Sasuke. I like

Thanks man, but I am currently at episode 83 and I don't want to skip around since they start from episode 92 on there.

iv downloaded episodes 1-145

love it man.

anyways the story is so in depth it just keeps getting better and better.

Anyways my fav characters are -

But Yeh naruto rocks man, it can be really touching at times aswell.

I'm pretty much in the same boat as FLSTYLE. I still download each episode, but I havn't watched any of them for about a month now. The fillers are really horrible right now and there's going to be an entire filler season coming up. If you reach episode 135 do youself a huge favor : STOP AND WAIT 'TIL SPRING! From that point on it's just filler after filler after filler. The Where I left off they were on their 4th filler mini-series. The first one was ok at best, and the rest are mostly lame.

With that said, let me just give you a rundown of my favorites (in oerder):

1.Tie between Rock Lee and Gaara. These two are the best characters through out the series.

2. Kankuro - I don't know why but I really love the fact that he fights with puppets. and the sound they make really sticks out.

3. Shikamaru - Great lazy character.

4. Shino - Granted even after 156 and still not much info on him, he just kicks ass. It has something to do with the bugs I guess.

5. Neji - At first he was really boring. It didn't help that they turned the swaztika on his forehead into an X in the anime, but later on during the biggest story ark (sorry I'm not even gonna use a spoiler box, you're just gonna have to wait and see) I really got into liking him.

6. Chouji - Gotta give it to the fat kid.

7. Sasuke - Ok he started off as my #1, but he just really went nowhere as the series progressed. He just got boring as more and more new characters showed up.

8. Orochimaru - Another one that was once high on the list but sank fast. The reason though is that once you get to the filler you realize the creators of the anime somehow felt the need to tie him to anyone who is evil in the show. It kind of diminished his character for me.

9. Kiba - Pretty much the exact same reason why I like Neji.

10. Tie between Zabuza and Haku.

Ok they've been dead for a while now but that was such a good chapter of the show.

On a side note I've noticed that a lot of people who got really frustrated with the Naruto filler (me included) have turned to Bleach. The shows are very similar, but Bleach is at such a good point right now that I'm more interested in it than Naruto...That is until Bleach reaches it's filler point and Naruto gets back on track.

although fillers can be annoying, i think its goo to strengthen all of the characters. honestly i dont think iv known any anime characters as well as i do the ones in Naruto..
plus it makes it more emotional if one dies or something like that happens

btw anyone know what naruto next is ??

How are they going to do Uzumaki Naruto renden in the American version?

U - zu - ma - ki (4 hits) pause Na - ru - to (3 hits)

In the American version it'll end up something like

Na - ru - to - U (4) zu - ma - ki

I got 9 dvds off ebay back around June, and i just finished them just about a week ago. I think I got pretty lucky too seeing that the last episode on there was 135 or so i dont remember, the beginning of the filler...

In the Sasuke Naruto battle, Sasuke grows those huge hand lookin bat wing kinda things out of his back. Are they hands or wings? Cuz, he used them to defend himself, but it looked like he also used them to fly. You think in the future he'll be able to grow all sorts of huge limbs and turn into another crazy giant motherfucker like Gaara did?

Chidori sounded pretty crazy too when Sasuke was at, what do you call that, level 2?

It sucks they had to go into long distance filler after some amazing shit just happened. Not that all the fillers are bad, i mean i really enjoyed the one about Kakashi's face...

1. Gaara - Just a straight up bad ass motherfucker! Hell my gamertag on xbox live is KF Gaara. The KF is a halo clan thing, stands for Konoha's finest.
2. Jiraiya - He's almost the comic relief of the show at times, but hes a freakin legendary sannin! Great researcher, great author, LOL!
3. Naruto/Sasuke - just gonna group them... their story/rivalry/friendship development turned out awesome as far as I've seen! Stubborn ass motherfuckers...
4. Itachi - Straight up... harcore.
5. Tsunade - She's got HUUUGE... Tracks o land! yea thats it lol
Hell i could list any character and give reasons why they kick ass.

Hand-shaped wings I think during his Cursed seal level 2 form, Sasuke can't transform like Garaa and Naruto because he doesn't have a Bijuu, Naruto has Kyuubi and Gaara has Shukaku.

Nice to see so many fans up in this. It's depressing that it's in a filler right now...that blows. Hopefully 83-135 are real good to make up for it. I'll watch the filler anyway. Kakashi is a G, and I always wondered what he looked like under the mask, anyway.

Shocked to see I'm the only big time Kakashi fan in here, but oh well. I really don't like how they have him being punked out by Itachi like that, but oh well.

Would you guys suggest me reading the manga after episode 135 while still watching the filler? Or will that throw me off.

wtaas the best way to get em. im trying torrents and that seems ok.. but it took me about a month to get pisode 1-140

im dowloading one by one now ... is there a website with direct links.

and no i aint a tightass (id buy the dvd's only prob is i aint got a cred card yet, so working on that )
