Hey what's going on everyone, I wrote reviews last year for both NBA 2K6 and NBA Live 06 and well with the new season of games out I decided too write another one.

Well we all know the next generation systems are out and therefore the next gen games will be better but for the PS2 version here is a quick review.

If you liked NBA 2K6 you will like NBA 2K7, only problem is they're very much a like. What would you expect though with the next generation games coming out? developers would rather make those games amazing and build them from scratch when they've already had a winning combination for the current generation consoles the year before for the game. In saying this 2K7 is almost exactly like 2K6. There's little differences such as the camera angle, you'll have too get used too it. It's still on the broadcast/ center court (for you NBA Live players) view but this time it zooms in when you're near the hoop or inbounding the ball and zooms out once you're crossing half court. It takes getting used too b/c in NBA 2K6 it didn't have this you could see most of the court fairly easily so if there was a fast break happening you would know who exactly was ahead of everyone for a simple pass down and then fast break dunk. In 2K7 I'm not entirely sure who's ahead because it takes time for the camera too scroll out and go down the court at times. Also another new thing is the passes and the receiving of passes. sometimes when players do a simple pass (either by hitting up the icons by pressing R2 or by using the lead pass which is O) they will sometimes either lob the ball high (icon passing) or give it some flash (O) the only problem with this is 2K sports changed how you receive passes, the players now do animations on receiving the passes such as hold an arm out and let the ball hit there arm as they take run too catch up too the ball, or they'll jump up in the air too catch it. This can be frustrating especially on a break because then you don't get that simple fast break point (IGN mentioned this and it's true).

Another new thing added too the game is player specific shooting yes it is in the game but for mainly just the superstars. The players shots who I have used are Allen Iverson, Lebron James, Tracy McGrady, Vince Carter, Tim Duncan, Dirk Nowitzki, Kobe Bryant and Shawn Marion which Marion's shot is the best out of all of them it's so quick that I think it's the easiest superstar shot of them all, McGrady's and Carter's are easy also. The one shot I couldn't knock down is Nowitzki's or Lebron's but once I went into the practice mode and shot around with it I knew when exactly too release the shoot button in their shot for a "perfect release". IGN mentioned that Nenad Krstic had his off balance shot, he doesn't in this game (again the next gen games having more then the current gens) it's still pretty cool too have though you might find it's a slower type shot such as Nowitzki's and Lebron's are slower release which might let online players block you more easily or it could just throw them off because it's a slower shot. For all the other players unfortunately it's the same animations as last year's game so they all shoot the same as last year's game and even the dunks with the shot stick are the same as last year.

The jersey's are all in the game even ones that should have been in 2K6 (such as Mavs alternate, Seattle's Alternate, Golden State's alternate and Atlanta's alternate) they also have all the hidden jersey's of 2K6 like Cleveland's alternate and the King's one, they don't have the St.Patrick jerseys but those were only for Chicago, Boston and New York and that was just for the 2006 season that those teams did it for. VIP mode is back which was cool I remember playing myself last year and getting frustrated with it hahaha it's quite challenging sometimes when the computer blocks a lot and does you're techniques.

Another new thing about the game is you can save replays which I thought was cool. If you ever make a crazy buzzer beater you can go into the instant replay and save it by hitting the select button.

The presentation is pretty much the exact same as last year with Kevin Harlen and Kenny "The Jet" Smith commentating most of what they say is the same as last year. The Halftime shows are the same as last year there's no video's of the players at the half scoring just still shots. Also it was rumoured in the next gen consoles Lebron would bite his nails on the side line, Arena's would take his jersey off etc. that's not in the current generation games and last but not least Steve Nash still has long hair which isn't all that accurate but I liked him with his long hair rather then now with it shaved. The gameplay you'll find is slower also they don't move as fast as they did in last year's game which is alright because it keeps too an NBA pace rather then being run and gun all the time. There is new cross overs which will take time too get used too I loved the around the back cross over in last year's game but it's gone from this one it's more of a cross around the back then stutter it's hard too explain but you'll see it when you do it.

Hopefully that review is some what helpful for people I wrote it very quickly so if it sucks sorry :o here's a quick rundown of the goods and bads.

The Goods: The shot stick is back I know I said it ould take getting used too in last year's review and that I didn't like it but it's useful on fast break dunks. The Defensive AI is sooo much better this may change because I thought the same as last year and now I can dunk a lot in games. In 2K7 when I played as Phoenix I didn't have much dunks because when you drive the lanes or pass a defender another defender will rotate too stop you. There's on the fly plays which you will have too get used too all you do is hit the right button on the d-pad and the plays will pop up then you can hit the icon of that play and it will happen. There's on the fly substitutions which is like the plays only you hit the left d-pad button and a little screen will pop up letting you substitute players in while playing rather than pausing the game and going into substitutions under the coaching option. Player specific shots.

The bads: The new animations when receiving passes. The same animations of last year's dunks. Players look the same as last year's game. The gameplay is pretty much exactly like 2K6's don't get me wrong I loved NBA 2K6 but I might get bored of this one soon and just do Fantasy games rather than a couple seasons like I did in 2K6.

Overall Rating 8.5 pretty much the same rating I gave 2K6 last year I'll still enjoy this game I love the player specific shots but I think my game playing days are coming too an end with the Next Gen consoles coming out. I suggest you rent this first too see if it's worth you're money but if you're an absolute fanatic and loved 2K6 and want player specific shots and an updated roster then get the game.

China called, they want their wall back.

In all seriousness, you may have completely valid opinions and thoughts but they are completely suffocated by your poor sentence structure and speech. I've reviewed games for over eight years now and realize everyone starts out everywhere, but you also need to apply formal and respectable English to the review in order for people to respect what you have to say.

Either way this game is great, live is unrealistic basketball with terrible graphics, terrible AI, and pathetic things like dunking on shaq with steve nash. All 2k games are better than EA sports imo.
Cheers dude. Im definatley going to get it!
