New member can anyone help me out??

Hi everyone. Im new this site..I have PS2 and was recently going to buy the new mortal kombat with freddy but the store said they dont have it in PS2 are they not making anymore games for this? I was also wondering can you play with others around the world through your PS2 and if so how do I do that?

Hi...Welcome to MKO!! Enjoy your stay, there's alot of nice people on here and if you have any questions feel free to ask. Also make sure you take a look at the Community FAQ's to avoid any trouble. But to answer your questions....

1) PS2's are sort of outdated now, everyone is mainly using the PS3/Xbox 360 so there's really no new titles being added to PS2's anymore. Mortal Kombat 9 is ONLY available on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 gaming consoles.

2) I don't own a PS2 *anymore* but yes you can play oniine (although I must say, I don't suspect there are many people participating in PS2 online games these days.) However, here is a link that instructs how to set up a PS2 for an online experience

Thank you so much for the info. Im am sadden by the news but will be ok. LOL. I gues I will need to upgrade my PS.. LOL.. I just bought 3 MK games for my PS2 is there anyway if I was to upgrade to PS3 that I could still use the same discs from PS2?

I have been a fan of MK forever.. I recently got my nephew into it.. Street fighter and X men have nothing on this game.. LOL. Thankx agan for your help!!

No Problem...and unfortunately MOST PS3's do NOT support backwards compatibility for ps2 games....there was a short supply of PS3's that did but they were expensive. If you want more info on PS3's you might want to check out this site....more than likely though your ps3 won't play your ps2 MK games...so you might want to keep your ps2

Welcome to MKO! Like what Keyara said, PS2 is outdated and the new MK game is only on PS3 and Xbox 360smile
Also, you can't play PS2 games on the PS3, so I would suggest keeping your PS2
