- Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton Announced for WWE SummerSlam
The WWE made it official on Thursday night’s episode of SmackDown that Brock Lesnar will face Randy Orton at SummerSlam on August 21st at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
They are promoting the fact that the two have not faced off since 2002, which was the year that both made their main roster debuts after being called up from Ohio Valley Wrestling.
I'm surprised they're acknowledging any prior history at all. Next to Triple H and Cena, it was one of the more obvious fresh match-ups they had when Lesnar came back in.
Not a bad idea announcing it before UFC 200. At least they get a stake in the ground before the fight fights, and if Lesnar loses, its something to build around.
I just hope there's a story to be told, because as a cold marquee match, it doesn't do much for me. Like so many others in the last ten years, Randy Orton was bumped into a main event spot and never really convincingly built himself up. Nothing about him makes me want to see him fight Lesnar. I don't see any immediate hooks. Maybe someone can help guide me.
Meanwhile, in TNA... #BROKEN Matt Hardy vs "Brother Nero" Jeff - THE FINAL DELETION
IT'S A DILAPIDATED BOAT!

Should I even watch it? Serious question.

I felt the same way. I just hit the screen with my guitar and retreated to my beloved garden.
As ridiculous as it is, I genuinely want to know where they go from here. Does Matt Hardy just show up on Impact and go back to regular wrestling? Does his ring entrance include a fleet of drones? Do they continue to do vignettes from the property?

Brock won! I may be even less interested to see Lesnar/Orton at Summerslam, now.

While I'm inclined to agree with your disdain for Orton, I do question the wisdom in putting a freshly recovered Orton against one of the stiffest workers the business has ever known(not named Stan Hansen).
In other news, looks like the WWE is trying their hand at a final deletion type scenario tonight with the Wyatt compound segment. Honestly, I think if they stay away from the more, shall we say, cheesy aspects of the final deletion, and sell this thing like the New Day just walked into a Texas Chainsaw movie, it could end up pretty good. Hopefully, however it goes down, there is a dilapidated (fan)boat involved...

Cautiously optimistic with the Wyatt/New Day angle. It's very interesting to me and I'm still just a huge Wyatt Family mark still. I don't want them to lose this feud so bad, though I like the New Day too. The Woods thing is what's really selling this while thing. Hope there's a big payoff.

- 2016 WWE Draft results: WWE officially ushers in New Era
If you missed it, the link above is the full draft (including Draft Centre picks from the Network).
Really feels like they've snapped back in time six-eight years. Smackdown got the shaft for the most part, has the far less compelling talent list. My hopes are in 29th draft Alberto Del Rio to at least add something to that top crust. RAW's got a good stack, but it's still a three hour show.
Even with RAW's big new addition [spoiler], it feels like nothing has been gained or significantly altered. Will be interesting to see if they resolve anything with trades, supplementals, recruiting.
Undrafted: Heath Slater. HA!

Ha, did I hear Mick Foley incorrectly?
I wish! What a stupid name and a stupid sentiment! Boooooooootista!
Pretty cool that Finn Balor won the contender scramble, though! And Dolph Ziggler just became #1 contender on Smackdown! Are these really gonna be our title matches at Summerslam?!
Not gonna get too excited. Last time we had a brand split Bubba Dudley and Test were in the contender's mix, but last time we weren't cruising toward one of the big PPVs. The fact that these guys are in the frame for Summerslam is pretty amazing. Nice to get off the Reigns train, too! (Assuming we stay there).

OK, some thoughts...
"WWE Universal championship". I don't have enough words to describe how truly awful and cringe worthy that name is...and I'm pretty sure I own a dictionary.
This week's Raw was one of the best the company's managed to produce in a long time. I didn't have the urge to change the channel once(I KNOW, RIGHT!?).
Finn Balor's debut could have been a gigantic flop, but damn it, they pulled through in a big way. It's nice to see that treating an NXT main eventer like a main eventer once they're called up can not only happen, but be meaningful at the same time (can Bo Dallas get a do over?).
Sasha Banks winning the big one was well done. Another win I did not expect to see(outside of Summerslam anyway). Which brings me to...
Why the hell did the Women's division get spread out over two shows? When all is said and done, there are what, 10 active Women all together between the rosters? What are the women on Smackdown fighting for at this point? Which brings me to...
Why the hell did the tag team division get spread out over two shows? Same reasons apply here. I just don't get why one show couldn't get the tag division and the other get the women's division. As it stands now, both divisions are running at half capacity and it's just not ideal.
Boy did Smackdown get the short end of the stick in this draft. The opening segment was a real reality check when you realized that the entire Smackdown roster could comfortably stradle three sides of the ring with no problem. Not to mention, what little talent they did get is primarily mid card talent at best. Yes, it creates opportunity, but when it's fucking Baron Corbin getting that opportunity, do we really care?
Dolph fudging Ziggler...main eventing Summerslam? He was the absolute last person I expected to win that match. Insane.
My man, Bray, once again finds himself without a family and as far as I can tell, sans direction. It's been the story of this guy's main roster run. He starts to get his mojo, and something comes along and throws it out the window. The feud with the New Day was great(major props to Xavier Woods for actually putting Wyatt over), but once again, the draft renders it all useless. He'll be jobbing to Apollo Crews and being fed to a down and out John Cena in no time.
Shelton Benjamin's back!!! Can't wait to see him again. Rumors are also saying MVP is returning as well. MVP has shot down those rumors...but so did Shelton Benjamin.
And the Universal championship is still an AWFUL name for a title.

a friend of mine said that means the return of another Women's title and another set of Tag belts, which would be stupid imo, because like you said, there's bearely any division on either show to warrent two sets of titles!! WWE didn't think this whole "Draft" thing through. imho there wasn't even talent to warrent another Draft and this whole thing will most likely fail and at some point we'll have a title for title unification match with the winner being declared.....wait for it...THE WWE UNIVERSAL WORLD HEAVEYWEIGHT CHAMPION!! try getting that all to fit on one belt haha
