no, i am not going to college, first of all, the people who goto college usually smoke, do disgusting things in their dorms regarding the opposite gender [in some cases, the SAME gender...] and i would just get nothing but bad friends who only like me if i decide to smoke and destroy my body, so, no.. and second, because of me having a bad time in school with try i nto get friends, i am in home schooling now...

dude i think you have a wrong sight of what friendship really is, you don't have to do things against your will in order to have friends, the best thing you can do is to be yourself, and your shyness is nothing but fear to rejection, if someone rejects you because of being you, then that person is not meant to be your friend, if you dislike smoking and drinking, or gay ppl thats ok because it is your opinion but do not say it is bad just because you state it is. chill dude, just do what you want, I'm 17 and my class mates are all guys (20) for example in may we had a school trip, and my mates brought a drug thing for everyone to try, I was one among the few who did not tried that shit, they insisted a couple of times saying that wouldnt do no harm because it was some kind of a space cake, but I kept saying no, and they eventually stopped asking me, but they're still my friends...

as for college life, i think uve seen way to many animal house style movies... real college life isnt as much like that... ur basically ur own person in college and everyone respects u for that and u choose u associate with... ive met hundreds of friends at college and only one of them drinks occasionaly and smokes...
no offense but if u think that going to college is only about hanging out with bad people then ur wrong, cause the main part of college is to get the main part of ur education...

But back on topic How hard is it to make friends? I moved to Orlando 6 months ago and after my first week in school I was friends with almost all the 8th graders(I was in 8th grade as well). Just go out and talk to people of your age. Find something interesting and talk to them. Sometimes even an argument can lead to a friendship. I was mad at WRDLFE about a week and a half ago because he stole my thread topic and now we are good friends. Good luck getting friends

Dude, no offense but y do u want friends if u dont want them to do anything... i mean come on dude, y not chase girls??? y not play some sports??? it aint like its gonna kill ya or anything... the best way to get friends is to be outgoing and not just shut urself off from the world and society, because that just makes people forget that u even exist... just enjoy life man, ur 16 for gods sake, u should be living it up while ur still dependent on ur parents, because before to much longer ur gonna be independent and then u wont have time to make friends and such...

He's right man, If you want friends your going to have to start being more out-going. At this rate your going to be a very lonely guy.

Just put some effort into it. It might be hard at first but you'll get over it. It will be worth it in the end.
