Omg Window Media Player is bullshit...

What is happening? Out of the blue Windows Media Player works when it wants to. I play a song and this setup screen pops up...
This thing:
Now I had WMP 9 and thought that upgrading to 10 would fix it. And it did for a little now its back again...
When I click finish it starts over from the beginning and doesn't work until I restart the computer. I clicked finish about 20 times and each time it resulted in sending me back to the setup screen. I can't be restarting the computer every 5 minutes.
Anyone know whats up?

The first time I got that screen was when I first installed WMP10. I got it a second time when I finally installed Windows Service Pack 2 last week (yes, I'm THAT lazy). Hasn't popped up since and I use WMP10 at least 3 times per day (for several hours each time, btw), every single day.
My best guess is that you didn't install it correctly. Uninstall it, then reinstall it, making sure you're doing everything correctly.

I totally uninstalled Media Player... Then reinstalled Version 10. Hopefully it'll work now for more than 10 minutes.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
At least FLSTYLE was on to something.
I personally use MPlayer, a player for Linux.
Plays all formats known to media.
Check out the site: http://www.mplayerhq.hu/
There's also a Windows version which runs over the Cygwin (Windows implementation of the Linux API what Wine is to Linux) kernel.
It worked really well, when I tried it (when I was still using Windows).

I've installed WMP10 on over 100 machines of various types, and that has never happened.
And for the other users, stop flaming MS! WMP is one of the best video players available for Windows.

Sorry but Real player is junk ware. Every Win system should have WMP & Quicktime, as well as a few codecs. I don't recomend anyone install real. Get the Real Alternative instead. It's just not worth hosing your system.
