Additional: That last bit about vines actually tentacles of the children of Shub-Niggurath. That wasn't about pokemon. That was on a subject about Cthulhu mythos.

I just never felt there was a great enough connection between the characters and their names, for the names to have any significance.

It's OK. I'll open it one day nonetheless then; surely there are other people interested in the Mortal Kombat etymology. I just wondered if you'd be excited of it so I could perhaps open it a little earlier.
