- Pokkén Tournament Is A Pokémon Fighting Game For Japanese Arcades



This morning, The Pokémon Company announced a partnership with Bandai Namco on a new project. Pokken Fighters is a Pokémon fighting game that will be released in 2015.

The first look showed two Pokémon duking it out hand-to hand. The title is slated for arcades in Japan, and the only hint that we have about a possible North American release is an English trailer from The Pokémon Company’s official YouTube channel.

Possible test ground for the Tekken x Street Fighter new mechanics.

The idea looks strange, but if the game is good I'll be happy for the fans of the franchise.

I guess Pokemon fans will accept any crap thrown at them. Talking about milking a franchise. Is there a genre of gaming Pokemon hasn't touched yet? I bet there will be a survival/horror/FPS Pokemon game coming soon as well... If there aren't already such a thing.

This might be the weirdest thing I've seen announced all week. Pokken Tournament brings together the Pokemon Company's tiny little cash cows and Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada from Bandai Namco. The game is planned for an arcade release in Japan in 2015, but there's been no further news about other possible platforms. [...]
