The PS4 doesn't look special at all...

Lame.

I bet they fail miserably with this one. Especially if they have a steep price. Nobody I know has been happy with their PS3 long-term, and I honestly don't feel like they will be with PS4. The graphics aren't too much prettier, but the power of it looks nice though.

First of all I have been happy with my PS3. Started out slow but it finished strong. Hell I sold my 360 to get a PS3. And Sony wont make the same mistakes they made with ps3. I don't see the price being as steep if PS really wants to compete. The real key to the power of the playstation is acquiring games from Blizzard as well as Bungie. Having games from Bungie tells me that PS and Xbox will be very comparable in specs for the new generation of consoles. PS will probably let Xbox dictate the starting price and match the offer. Take my money Sony

Gamespot is reporting more info on the PS4. It's been confirmed that the PS4 will not be backward compatible. In addition nor will the system play or transfer exsiting PSN digitally purchased games, although Sony is looking for way to make them playable in some form.

Looking much less a buy for me, especially if Sony tries and charge for the same content again.

I have a great solution to this.

Make the entire PSX, PS2, and PS3 libraries available on PSN. If you have the corresponding disc, you can insert it into the PS4 and then download that game for free from PSN. The logistics of it might be a bit strained for PS3 games when it comes to disk space, but then again cloud saves and such could help with that problem.

I had the same idea. It is the most logical thing to do, but we all know developers won't support it, because you know...it cost them money on sales.

The same thing happened with the PSP and Vita. You could use your disk based version of a PSP game to get a discounted digital version from PSN that would then work on the PS Vita, it was only offered in Japan though, they didn't offer it state side.
