Request: Internet Connection Help
So the good news: I'm finally able to get online again thanks to my new cable internet.
The bad news: All my MK matches online look like they're underwater it's so burdened by lag.
In order to determine if this was a product of MK's notorious connection problems I changed the setup from: Cable Modem -> Wireless Router-> Ethernet Cable to PS3 to Cable Modem-> Ethernet Cable to PS3. That helped tremendously and the matches were sliky smooth so my guess is that my Wireless Router, even when ethernet cabled to my PS3, was yielding slow speeds.
Does anyone know how to tweak Wireless Router settings to fix this issue or had similar experience? How'd you fix it? Any and all help would be GREATLY appreciated.
The Wireless Router is a Belkin series but I'm not sure on the exact model. I'm doing some research to find out. Thanks in advance.

See for Xbox, I can only use wired since I don't have a wireless router for the console. And even at that, the connection does be ok but the internet provider I use is fairly shite and knocks on and off at times. Sometimes the connection just goes for a few seconds then comes back, it's ridiculous.
I'd advise you to stick to the cable, just make sure your internet provider is consistent with their service.
I can't spell tonight at all.

Thanks for the quick feedback.
To clarify though I'm ideally trying to run the PS3 wired to my wireless router (not relying on WiFi). Even when doing wired to the router though I had terrible lag. It was only when I cut out the router all together (Straight Modem wired to -> PS3) that the speed was smooth.
Update Edit: So I went to my router's diagnostics page and disabled the firewall. The router is connected to the PS3 (wired) and connection speed test through the PS3 home yielded:
Connection Speed (Download) - 6.5 Mbps
Connection Speed (Upload) - 1.6 Mbps
Does that mean anything to anyone?
