Not a fan.

In my opinion, the series turned into an action-based one starting with RE3. That being said, I still enjoyed it. Fortunately, they did briefly amend their mistakes with Resident Evil REmake, and Resident Evil 0 (which are scary as shit.)
However, I intensely disliked RE:CV and RE4. Resident Evil 4 is not a RE game. RE5 looked so awful, I refused to even play it (let alone buy it.)

I've lost all faith in the series. Same thing with Silent Hill. It has lost all touches of the survival horror genre. It's really sad that such great franchises have turned into dumbed-down run n' gun action games.

Not buying it.

I agree that RE:4 wasn't really intwined to the series as the previous releases but damn did I love that game.

Ya see, I loved 5. But only because I liked the fact the story mainly revolved around Chris looking for Jill. I even liked the battlesuit because to me, her appearance reflected something she utterly despised: Wesker. Both were blonde in that game and pelted head to toe in kevlar, and to me I felt that was a sadistic move on Wesker's behalf enslaving her and then making her reflect the man she's spent her life in opposition against. Plus, you know, the Mercenaries kicked ass.

I refuse to play this tripe though. To me, it's not Resident Evil if it's anything like SOCOM. I've been hoping for years that they'll do a Resi 2 and Resi 3 REmake like they did with the first game, but to no avail. :(

Thank you for ruining another game series. I mean really, look how fast the character runs, no zombie or boss will be scary to you when you can run like the Flash. I don't give a shit about having *Special Ablilites*. Not to mention this isn't really Resident Evil, its Left 4 Dead meets SOCOM lol. You would think that Capcom would try sticking to a familiar formula of having a survivor horror game like in the past RE's. I see a vision of the future in this series turning out with what has happened to Sonic. I know that I won't be purchasing this game. Wait I think I know what some other enemies will be in this game as well, their going to mix the zombies and the Illuminati's together in certain levels to have you being attacked by the chainsaw guy and a zombie dog at the same time.........

It's a sidegame. They didn't ruin anything. it's not like when they made a Batman race car game, the batman video game series was ruined forever because it was now a race game.

I don't think it looks good, and I probably won't get it, but I still love Resident Evil 4. I don't think this game will go the way of Sonic. Resident Evil evolves into games unfamiliar with the roots of the franchise, but they're still good games. People just don't think they're very "Resident Evil" where as new Sonic games just plain suck.

The reason why it looks like SOCOM is because Slant Six is making the game...they were custodians to the SOCOM franchise for a time. They are also responsible for SOCOM: Confrontation which many consider to be the worst SOCOM game ever made (although many now feel SOCOM 4 holds the title). Nobody should let Slant Six near any beloved franchise.

As a huge fan of RE I still maintain the belief that there hasn't been a true RE game since RE Zero. RE4 and RE5 are not survival horror games - they're action games.

I think its a cool addition to the RE universe, and personally i think its stupid that ppl say RE4 is not a resident evil game. Its action packed but its still scary, the game just grew... and became one of the best games ever.
Its like saying Ocarina of Time isnt a true zelda because ur not limited to what u could do in the 2-d games.

Just be prepared for a potentially uber buggy and glitch filled game - it's Slant Six's calling card.
