Claire is long overdue for the spotlight again. Glad she's back. Moira sounds useless but hopefully not Ashley Graham useless.

They just need to make a game with Barry Burton as the star. I'd buy the shit out of that.

As much as I don't really care for Claire that much (I just never got behind her character), I do agree that she needs to be in the spotlight more. I'm not going to say that she's a terrible character, no, I just never got the hang of playing as her (despite that each character plays exactly the same in certain aspects).


And yes, I hope Moira isn't Ashley Graham useless as well. That was just what annoyed me the most with the fourth game.

Finally, Claire is returning! Talk about overdue. Like, way, way past overdue.

Moira Burton sounds interesting. I hope Barry makes an appearance too, but making his daughter the co-star probably means we'll finally find out what happened to Barry after RE3, even if he himself doesn't come back.

Bittersweet reaction for me.

Everything to do with Claire was all about searching for Chris. I really thought RE degeneration was a fitting conclusion for her character. My initial reaction was "are you fucking kidding me? Why!?" until I found out that the game takes place between RE5 and RE6. Then it made sense. Chris was AWOL after "the incident" and I would expect Claire to be searching yet again. I expect this is during that 6-month period.

The only thing that doesn't make sense yet is Moira Burton. Barry was so devoted to family safety that he betrayed his closest friends & comrades and migrates his entire family to Canada. Now I know that he likely hasn't just sent Moira into danger or signed off on her involvement but Barry just strikes me, through actions/plot/words as the kind of guy that would say "No risky fields of work, no exceptions."

He would no doubt be aware of TerraSave and Wilfarma's involvement/affiliation with the pre-RE5 events of degeneration. I just don't see him allowing Moira to exist in that circle. This isn't even mentioning the sure intel that Wesker, Tricell and any remnant of Umbrella would have on the remaining STARS members and any other loose end. Barry should be more protective than ever.

For this to make sense to me, Moira has to have some sort of rebellious motive, ambition or activity. Even with that being said, I don't see Claire being all "come with aunt Claire!". Then again, life-threatening outbreaks could happen at any moment or soon after they meet up without a chance for logical action.

The one thing that is becoming more prevalent with Capcom's post-Mikami era is the inability to kill any beloved character. A certain male in RE6 was an exception but still a crime. The only reason it happened was because Capcom chickened out on killing Chris as they originally planned. Everything about Chris said he was going to die and it made perfect sense. Now, he's just unstoppable and completely unbelievable. They have a problem.

Leon was well-trained but still gave a realistic representation of understanding that death could be at any second. Chris just punches boulders in volcanoes and dunks bad guys left and right. I have fucking hated Chris since RE1 and as soon as Capcom makes him interesting, they ruin it by not ending it at the most logical closing point he has had since RE:UC.

If Capcom doesn't realize that keeping characters around too long ruins them, we and RE are totally screwed. This needs to be Claire's last appearance.

The Resident Evil Revelations 2 reveals continue. Following the leak of the box art in late August, details surfaced in the November issue of Gamesmaster magazine, including how the game fits into the series canon.

According to the article, Revelations 2 takes place in between the events of Resident Evil 5 and 6. The story is centered around Claire Redfield and Moira Burton (daughter of Barry Burton), who are teamed up throughout the campaign. Yes, that means the campaign is fully cooperative.

How about Resident Evil: Gaiden?

As for this, I have no major impressions.
I just want another game with Billy.

I want to see Rebecca more than anyone in the series to make a comeback.

Not a fan of the episodic approach, at all. Will probably wait for the retail release. But the game looks good so far.

I am extremely excited for this, Claire is tied with Jill as my all time favorite Resident Evil character and she is long overdue with her game. Capcom is totally getting my money on this one.
