When it comes to homosexuality in the media, at least male homosexuality, quite frankly, it's lackluster (I don't see enough lesbian relationships to actually comment on them). Both guys are generally pretty dull, and the media's typical "effeminate" man is often a completely pathetic and unattractive mess. Nothing against "effeminate" men, hell male crossdressers rock (I even dream of crossdressing sometimes, and I'm a straight guy, for your information), but the media's typical portrayal of them, ugh. To me, lots of same-sex friendships in fiction would make better gay couples than most of the gay relationships we actually get. Anyway, here's a few from me.


1) Steve Mcgarrett and Danno Williams from the modern Hawaii Five-0 show. My god, can you imagine these two in a romantic relationship? The sex appeal alone would be off-the-charts. And they already behave like a couple who while nagging at one another, really are in love. Chin-O being hooked up with either men would work too. It could even make for a great gay love triangle.

2) Sam and Dean Winchester from Supernatural, IF they weren't biologically related. As far as complicated gay relationships go, wow, this one would be...phenomenal. I haven't seen the last season yet by the way, so please don't spoil it, okay?

3) Stryker and Kabal. Hell, for all we know, they're already a couple.

4) Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger in their younger years.


I want gay relationships in the media to be treated exactly like straight ones, with romantic and sexual scenes that are passionate and electric. All these duos above would come close to that if you added a sexual element. Yes, I know the actors in three of my suggestions probably wouldn't be comfortable with it, but again it's hypothetical, meaning, let's pretend that they are. And really, that's one problem with the acting industry, not enough gay/bi actresses or actors that could be paired with one another as co-stars. If John Travolta truly is gay like rumors have said, then it's tragic he never played any gay characters in his younger years (as far as I know, anyway). Goddamn homophobic society.
