First hurricane. It's boring.

I lost power.

I've seen worse. I lived in Florida for most of my life & we down here have seen a hell of a lot worse. Especially during 2004-2005. Now that was hell, hurricanes wouldn't stop coming & hitting. Sandy isn't anything compared to those storms but stay safe to all those up there.

A hurricane in the Northeast is as harrowing as a snowstorm would be in Florida. I wish people would stop trivializing this storm's magnitude. Things are NOT going well here.

My apologies the Northeast isn't used to hurricanes.

Makes me glad I grew up in a place with no hurricanes, no earthquakes, and no tornadoes. This is just weird now being a place susceptible to them.

A surveillance camera caught this footage of flood waters pouring into the subway that I use every day to get to and from work. I think I underestimated the effect that this storm was going to have on me and my community.

My thoughts goes to you all who gets hit by the hurricane. I heard several hospitals in New York area lost power which would mean alot of deaths. So sad. :(

I live in Philadelphia and it was pretty fucking windy last night.I was walking down the street and my hat blew off.Every time I reached for my hat it blew farther away from me making me look stupid and fat.We lost our power for not even 10 seconds.Alantic City and New York got it the worst.Tons of folks are still without power in Jersey.I wonder how Snooki is taking this.It's kind of ironic how how Hurricane ''Sandy'' made everything wet! I thought we were gonna get a SAND storm or something.The wind was screaming and even made my ears pop at one point.LOL! Call me evil or crazy(chuckle) but the louder the wind howled,the louder the alley cats howled! OMFG! The unfortunate cats ear piercing screams made me feel warm and euphoric inside.I need help. I just heard on the news that more than 35 people are reported dead Manhattan's NYU hospital had to evacuate due to the loss of power.By mid morning the hospital was empty and every body was saved.

I'm in Queens NY, I just got my first cell phone service connection on my iphone, posting from it. Half the house has power (the important half), no cable or internet. A lot of downed trees and power lines. Constantly hearing emergency vehicles passing by. Thank God we have heat.

My fam in Long Island however is not so lucky. Their neighborhood got hit bad from sandy. They don't have any power whatsoever, street lights are out of order, no heat, no phones. I tried to get in contact but no response from them resulted me actually going and makin sure everything is ok and thankfuly there was no damage to their house.

I start work again tomorrow, it should be real fun getting in and out of Manhattan as I just found out they're only allowing cars with no less than 3 passangers at a time, most subway lines are still getting repaired, and if you're thinking of getting in a cab they still have to pickup more passengers along with you. Oh and as a bonus, I found out Con Ed had a major explosion at their plant during the storm.
