Godsmack played for about an hour and Metally played for a little over 2 hours... they kicked things off with blackened and played almost all stuff from Ride the Lightning, Master of puppets, just for all, 1 from reload, 1 from garage days, 1 from killem all,1 from S&M,4 from black album and 2 from St. Anger... man this show was great...

I saw Metallica back in August '00 when they played a date on the Tattoo the Earth Tour at Giant Stadium. It's funny, now I barely listen to any of the bands that were on that tour that I listened to when I saw it (Slipknot and Metallica), but now I listen to a lot of bands that were there that I didn't listen to back then (Slayer, Sepultura, Hatebreed, Nothingface).
Anyway, Metallica is a great band to see live, even if I don't listen to them that much now. Unlike a lot of bands they sound better live than on CD, IMO; also one thing they did that I thought was cool was, when they played Master of Puppets they kinda stopped at the part where it slows down, and played Sanitarium, then without skipping a beat from Sanitarium, they played the rest of Master of Puppets...I don't remember exactly what part they started from; it wasn't right where they left off, but I think they still played the fast solo, but I'm not sure. Oh, well...

That's cool that you saw Metallica.
Right now, I'm more of a Slayer fan than a Metallica fan, as some of you may already know. However, it was Metallica that initially got me hooked on metal, so if it weren't for me listening to Metallica, I would not be listening to Slayer right now. In any case, I just won a trip for two to see Metallica in Little Rock, AK, their last show for this leg of their current tour from my local radio station. The radio station pays for my flight and my hotel reservations along with that. After this show, Metallica goes to Europe, then back to North America.
Also confirmed by my radio station today is this: Metallica's coming to my hometown (San Antonio, TX) for the first time in six YEARS! Tickets go on sale the same day I go to Little Rock, AK to see them, though. So I may not get to see them in my hometown. Besides, I have to keep money saved up for merchandise at the concert, and maybe a rental car for the day.

Nice one Ghaleon, it's been awhile since ive seen Metallica live, last time it was 97 at Reading Festival here in the UK, and as such have not heard how they sound with Rob as bassist, other than the DVD that came with ST.Anger, But i am seeing them this Year at the Donnington Download festival on June 6, Metallica headline the main stage, also playing are Korn,Slayer,Machine head,Slipnot,Soulfly, ill Nino,Turbonegro, and Breed 77 open, i'm counting down the days
