That's traumatic. I hate snakes. How the hell did a copperhead bite you?

I'm guessing with its fangs.

i was walking home after going out w/ a couple friends. when i got on my road, i saw the copperhead going up into someones yard. These ppl have kids, and i didnt want a kid getting bit, so I decided to move it to the creek. Well, I was drunk and my judgment was a bit off. My friends basically said no... dont.... then sat back and watched. One of my (crappy) friends lived right next door to this place and i asked him to get me a box. he comes back w/ a water bottle and said he didnt have a box (bullshit). So im holding the snake by the tail and it's being really docile. When i decide to pick it up, i grab it behind the head. Unfortunately (or fortunately, it gave me a great story), i flinched at the last second and the snake whipped around and tagged me w/ one fang. It was 1 in the morning, and i walked home and woke my mom up saying "get up, we need to go to the hospital. i got bit by a copperhead." We went up to the hospital and the knocked me out w/ demerol. I barely remember waking up a few times in the back of an ambulance on the way to the real hospital in Savannah. Eventually i woke up in the trauma center in horrible pain. i was unbelievably thirsty, and it felt like my hand was going to explode. After about 2 hours they gave me ice chips, and it was many hours until i got a room. I spent the next two days there in excruciating pain w/ 2 percocets every 6 hours and a morphine drip. They were drawing 6 vials of blood every 4 hours. i took about 12-16 shots in those 2 and a half days. when i was discharged, they wheeled me out into the waiting room and left me. i was in horrible pain and was hallucinating. my mom was talking to the doctors somewhere else, and ppl were walking by me staring, but doing nothing (especially hospital staff who were ending their shift, assholes). eventually a lady got me and had me taken to the e.r. where they gave me some kind of pain killing shot in my upper arm. it hurt like hell. I spent the next 4 months going to a hand surgeon and physical therapy. Remember those blisters on my finger in the pictures? well, at one point the hand surgeon held my hand down and lanced both of them w/ a scalpel and squeezed as hard as he could. It hurt sooooo bad. Anyway, that's pretty much the whole story. Hope you enjoyed it

Yeah I would have died. The snake wouldn't need to bite me. I would have seen it and just dropped dead right there.

Because he was drunk. Not that I say it's not possible, but preservation usually works differently when sober.

haha, but as soon as i got bit, i got the snake to let go, and then put him down and went home. so, i never got to move the snake, and had to go thru that shit anyway.
