Does anybody know anything about the Silent Hill movie. I've read that they're going to be making one, but I haven't heard anything else other than that.

It's being directed by the same guy who was in charge of Brotherhood of the Wolf and Crying Freeman. Konami is keeping a close eye on it to make sure it doesn't get screwed up and it will most likley be scored by Akira Yakamoto(?) who was in charge of the musical scores of the games and is directing Silent Hill 4 : The Room. It will most likey start filming in early '05 and come out later in the year.

Until then, I suggest you check out Silent Hill : Dying Inside which is the new comic book series that takes place in the Silent Hill universe.

I've been checking into it every now and then and from what I've last heard is that there's problems with the script. The problem: the company that has the Silent Hill license has said that it's too scary for the general public to be profitable. Yep. Too scary. They want to tone it down in order to make a more action-orientated horror movie. The Silent Hill creator's then replied with a solid "now way" and set an ultimantum that if it's not made their way, then it's not made right, and would subsequently drop the project. Under that pressure, I'm sure whatever company is releasing the film will give in. If not, another company will pick it up, but the script is well under-way, almost done, and already deemed too scary for the general public. Oh yeah...
Fatality.
Too scary? cool

They better not tone it down confused

Too Scary? wow and these people want to edit that out? I'll be the first to say, I'm rather disapointed with the US. . . I have yet to this date, seen a movie that I found truely terrifying. I long for the days of my childhood, when I used to be afraid to even walk in the dark, when I'd have nightmares.... Now that I'm older, I love horror videos, but damn people. With movies like The Ring, and Gothika....everyone says these are scary, or the all imfamous Exorcist.... I don't see what the big deal is. My mother always told me, that it was the scariest movie ever made, I saw it and just thought of what a joke that was. I don't know, but I hope I'm not the only one that misses that good old feeling of just being terrified, I do not see how they would even consider cutting out scenes just because it'd be too scary. Too scary is just what we need!!!! furious

^You should be able to take solace in the possibility that you'll be in hell one day. I'm sure that will be scary enough.

I honestly hope that when I leave the theatre that I feel so uneasy that I can't even sleep. I want the same kind of horror that you get from the videogames in the movie. I want to be so deeply disturbed after seeing it that I just want to curl up in a ball and cry. I hope this movie is so horrifying that people actually go insane, and are put in mental institutions because of it. I hope it is so bad..........I think you get the point.

Yeah, I think RE left a little room for them to squeeze in a thriller and get away with it, but if they aren't true to the Silent Hill games it will be total BS
