Someone please explain the story of the film Black Swan

I know it's about a ballerina who fights her dark side and ends up killing herself instead of the dark form of herself. I'm confused.

I'm not surprised that you are confused about the movie, as it actually requires you to think to be able to understand it.

Basically, it's about the pressure and the mental stress that comes with success and the expectations there of.

She totally crashes mentally as she is pushed beyond her limits, and accidentally stabs herself when having a psychotic moment, fighting her "dark side", but because she is so determined to finish her performance, she completes it even with a stab wound in her gut.


It's why Winona Ryder's character turned out the way she did as well, just becoming an alcoholic to try and deal with it instead.

I didn't watch the movie but when I was reading about the movie I saw it had won many awards and stuff. This isn't my kind of film but the story intrigued me. Also wasn't there another character Mila Kunis, and was she the one the White Swan was trying to kill?

I prefer judging people on who they are rather than where there from. But that's just me because most of the people in my country always do the opposite.
