I've never liked Jax, but any remaining respect for him vanished after I played MKDA! The whole image sucks! I hate it!
They should never have made him so ghetto! Not every black guy is like that! As a black guy, I know! I do not talk, dress or act like that!

First of all, this is the wrong forum.
But I'll answer anyway: yeah, I think he was made into a pretty stereotypical black character. One thing I'd like to point out, though, is that if Jax was a new character in MKDA, and wasn't a military character, if he was just some black guy off the street, and was given that whole attitude, I don't think nearly as many eyebrows would be raised. For example, look at the pic of Jax in the MK4 instruction booklet. He has a disciplined, dignified air, suggesting more of a military version of Sidney Poitier than, say, Will Smith or Martin Lawrence. In MKDA Jax's attitude seemed to change, and he was given more of a comic relief image. It's not so much the fact that a black character was shown with a stereotypical image that may lead people to say that Midway thinks all black people act that way, as the fact that Midway never really suggested that image for him before.

i always liked jax, though i do think it was strange that from mk4 to mk:da it changed, but uh, i think they should of kept his new look (not his alternate, sorry, but i hate mike tyson) but kept it to more of a civil attitude (like carnage said, he should of acted like he was still from mk4), but i could see, perhaps for just the bling bling image thats unlocked in the krypt, perhaps, i mean, we had raiden with a sound system and kano eating cereal, odd but funny, should'nt be taken seriously, but sadly, i think its properly from these, uh, "gangsta's" that they wanted to immitate, sorta the same reason why many hate the Tec 9, pretty much the same reason sadly.
and like xcarnagex said, wrong forum.

Indeed they did! Any respect I had for him vanished the moment I first time I fought against him....I guess the guys at midway thought that it would be pretty funny making Jax look like a clown. Instead it was a tasteless mockery of a once respectable soldier....For shame.

I never liked Jax. Until MK 3. He had the best fatality in that game. Where his arms transformed into Giant Blades and diced the opponent up. HOWEVER...In MK 4 and MK:DA I didn't care for him at all.
man i loved jax in mkda.. i love the whole awwww yeeeahh when ever he pulled out the gun..i prolly like it cuse i tend to say it all the time.. its my aim sound whenever some 1 signs into aim.. awwww yeeeeaaaaaaahhhhh..but i will say the whole ghetto look is so 1990.. the mk team is a little late on that 1...lol
