What do you think would happen if Rogue (from the X-Men) touched the Parasite (Superman villain)?

Interesting question, but I think that their powers would either cancel each other out (since they're basically the same) or simply nothing at all.

hmm... one might absorb the others power and thus amplify their own... or like MKS said just cancel eachother out

here's a better question: why in the hell am I answering a theoretical question about fictional characters at 1:00 AM??
A) because I have no life
B) because I'm a comic-nerd
C) I suffer from insomnia
D) all of the above

*Looks at clock*

It's 1:45am man doode. It's too late to think about important and intriging issues such as this.tonguegrin j/k ALTHOUGH... it is an interesting query!

I think Rogue's powers and Parasite's powers would cancel each other out I think. The fact that they can retain the abilities of whomever they come in contact with for a sustained period of time would give both of them greater abilities, but neither would have an advantage ovet the other.

Hmmmm.... that would make for a cool crossover series indeed.glasses Huh! That is an interesting "What if"?

I'm... groggy.

C, because if you had no life, you wouldn't be socializing with us right now. The fact that you chose communication with others over playing some random game right now stands for something.

As for the question, I can't say I really know. I have very little knowledge of anything from DC, but I'm assuming parasite has the same powers as
Rogue. Therefore, I guess they would cancel out, as stated above.

Ive wondered this same question myself Kombat, and i believe that they would both pass out withing a matter of seconds because the absorbing power of both causes the victim to pass out or fall out of weakness, so they would probably just weaken each other or knock each other cold, and then theres the possibility that they could kill themselves by emiting great amounts of power back and forth...

It would create a positive feedback loop that would keep reinforcing itself until it eventually destroyed the universe.

I agree. I think that's exactly what would happen. They're far to similar for their powers to work on each other, IMO.

That question makes my head hurt. What if Rougue touched Mojo? Would Rogue die, or would she steal Mojo's powers?

Depends on which one is the Stronger Obsorber of Power. That one would win. Rouge seems to only be able to handle some power obsorbtion before having issues, whereas Parasite can keep draining and not blink an eye.

Good question. I would assume that if both companies were to agree both charecter's are equally equipt with the same power that three possibilities could occur:

1. They switch psyches. In other words Rogue become Parasite and Parasite become Rogue.

2. Similar to that of the above but with a slight twist. Instead of the two switching psyches, Parasite absorbs what Rogue took from Carol Danvers, leaving Rogue as the mutant she started out as(no flying, no super strength).

3. The two coming in contact with each other could cause a reaction similar to that of a fuse box that has recieved an overabundance of power, and shorting out. This possibility though leads to two others.

A) See #1, but it becomes perminant.

B) The two retain their pysches but lose their powers (Rogue may or may not lose her flight and super strength). Now this effect may either be perminant or their powers regress for a period of time, eventually coming back full force later on.

Now if I was to actually choose which of these routes I take with the whole situation I'd go with #2. One could turn it into a mini series of books where Rogue would have to hunt down Parasite to try and get her powers back. How, I don't know. I didn't think it all the way out yet.....But it gives me an idea.....

One a side note, just a thought but imaging trying to seperate the two...

I could see it now, Cyclops tries to pull Rogue off, and in the next pannel Parasite is shooting at Cyke with an optic blast.

You know Kombat, you raised a really good question, that could bring up total anarchy.

Wow, that is a stumper!

This question also makes me wonder if Lois Lane could ever have Superman's baby.

Have we already forgotten what we learned from Mallrats?

T.S. Quint : But they're engaged.
Brodie : Doesn't matter, can't happen.
T.S. Quint : Why not? It's bound to come up.
Brodie : It's impossible, Lois could never have Superman's baby. Do you think her fallopian tubes could handle the sperm? I guarantee you he blows a load like a shotgun right through her back. What about her womb? Do you think it's strong enough to carry her child?
T.S. Quint : Sure, why not?
Brodie : He's an alien, for Christ sake. His Kyrptonian biological makeup is enhanced by earth's yellow sun. If Lois gets a tan the kid could kick right through her stomach. Only someone like Wonder Woman has a strong enough uterus to carry his kid. The only way he could bang regular chicks is with a kryptonite condom, but that would kill him.

If Lois wanted to have Superman's baby, they'd probably have to conceive the baby in a place under a red sun (or, in an environment similar to a red sun) and I'd imagine she'd have to spend the majority of her pregnancy there, too.

That's assuming that she could even carry his baby in the first place (as they are 2 different species)

Actually Alpha, she has tried to absorb Mojo before. When the X-Men got turned into the X-babies and the NEw Mutants had to become the X-Men and go save them. The issue where Longshot was introduced. She could't absorb him, there was too much. She started to bloat out in different parts of her body but it was too much and she passed out from the effort. Mojo was unaffected.
