I stumbled into it, while I was gathering intel to create the very same thing. Someone else already has. It's amazing. I mean just incredible.

Very cool.

Well I am relieved because now when somebody asks me what metal is all about and why I love it, I can just tell them to look at this.
I am still going to do some kind of metal project, but now it's got to be refocused. I have listening to do.

Cool site man! I'm a huge metalhead. Whether it's Metalcore, Grindcore, Melodic Death Metal, Progressive Metal, Technical Death Metal, Black Metal, Deathcore, and even Alternative Metal, I listen to all of it. One of my favorite sites to go to for metal related stuff is Metal-archives since they let you search for bands by genre, then when you locate a band you like, it gives you their discography, their biography, and lyrics to their albums as well. Great site that helped me discover all kinds of new bands.

Hell yeah Sick Lord. What are you listening to? I am big on Stoner Metal and loving my Holy Mountain Album by Sleep.

Right now I've been listening to a lot of Melodic Death Metal and Deathcore. So bands like:
Melodeath:
Hypocrisy
Zonaria
Mors Principium Est
Epicurean
Neaera
Sonic Syndicate
The Autumn Offering
Dark Tranquillity
Deathcore:
The Agony Scene
All Shall Perish
Destruction of a Rose
I Declare War
Rose Funeral
After the Burial
I've also been listening to a lot of Cattle Decapitation and Circle of Dead Children as well as a lot of King Diamond, Dreamtheater and Raintime. I also just made my friend listen to some Agoraphobic Nosebleed and he almost shot himself from it, some Grind bands are a little too much for some people to handle. I've also been getting into Groove bands like Bleed the Sky, DevilDriver, Lamb of God, Bloodsimple, and Icon in Me. Basically I'll listen to ALMOST any metal band. I just don't like Sludge Metal, Doom Metal or Brutal Death Metal. I'm also not a very big fan of Black Metal either, the production values drive me crazy on that genre. Otherwise I like obscure bands and mainstream bands at the same time.

Why don't you have a seat?

This has been around for a while, but it is still bookmarked as a favorite for me. I would love it if their was an equivalent map for hip-hop/R&B, connecting it to blues and jazz and stuff.

Widescreen Mode - Everlasting Bomb
This and Evile are some nasty bands I'd like to see one day.

This is really cool. I knew there were many "branches connected to the trunk of the tree" (to put it that way), but I've never heard of Unblack Metal or Oriental Metal.
Couldn't agree more, mate. Now I'm prompted to listen to Jazzmataz after so many years. If someone were to take up the task, they should also include battles between emcees that were significant at those periods of time.

Very cool and Diverse. I like all kinds of music, metal just does something extra for me. I like all the genres too but seem to be more old school. Favoring NWOBHM and Older metal and stoner. Lost in the 70's and 80's.
Lot of the newer metalheads I talk to are really into Grind and Black metal. Which I think is cool to.
