Kinda can't wait to see this. catching fire really stuck to the source material and ended up being really good. hopefully they do some small changes here and there just so i can have some wtf moments.

No familiarity with the books, but that second movie (Catching Fire) really sold me. First one was pretty hohum, but that second one really tightened things up, cranked the gimmick. Definitely on the hook for #3.

Oh god. Not again. Another book-to-film franchise where the last book is split into two parts. Of course it's good to see more detail of the book will be shown and given depth, but it also feels like a gimmick that's getting tired.
As for the events, well, the first film would have been better off split into two or just made three hours long, because there were so many details and important plot points that were skipped over. The real importance of the mockingjay pin, for example, is not told all at once in the book, but never told at all in the films. Same thing with Katniss and Rue's bonding inside the arena.
The second film i felt was better at sticking to the original source material, but still left out a few important details. How and when Haymitch won his Hunger games year is vital for understanding his character, and also provides more background for the mockingjay. All the events before Katniss's birth tie into what she does in the arena, and it's important to know how and why.
Things to look forward to (one hopes) in the third film will be all the action scenes... say no more.
