The Order: 1886
I was just wondering if there's anyone here that's interested in getting this game or not.
The Plot
The Order: 1886 is set in an alternate history London, where an old order of knights keep all of the world safe from half breed monsters, who are a combination of animal and man. In the game's history, around the seventh or eighth centuries a small number of humans took on bestial traits. The majority of humans feared these half breeds and war broke out. Despite the humans outnumbering the half breeds, their animal strength gave them the upper hand in centuries of conflict.
Centuries later, humanity finds new hope in King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. King Arthur and his like-minded knights take the fight to the half breeds, but Arthur soon realizes it's a losing battle. Through a mysterious turn of fate The Knights discover Black Water, a mystical liquid that significantly extends their lifetimes and gives them remarkable healing abilities. Despite this new advantage the half breeds continue to win battle after battle, until the industrial Revolution turns the tide. Inventors are far ahead of their time, inventing technologies such as thermal imaging, Zeppelins, and wireless communications. New weapons belch electricity, ignite clouds of molten metal on top of enemies, and fulfill dual functions as fragmentation grenades and proximity mines.
By 1886, the war still goes on, but the humans almost have martial law. A new threat emerges in the form of the lower classes rebelling against the rich and the social order, with the Knights supporting the well-to-do upper classes and nobles. The game features four main protagonists from the same squad, who each has a given name, and the adopted name of one of the original Knights. The oldest is Sebastian Malory, the second to bear the name of Sir Percival, and the descendant of Thomas Malory, who in the 1400s wrote Le Morte d'Arthur, the definitive Arthurian Text. A close friend of Grayson, he is one of the best Knights in the history of the order.
Grayson is the third to bear the title of Sir Galahad, and has battled the order's enemies for centuries. He views Mallory as a mentor, Lafayette as a friend, and Isabeau as a potential love interest. Other than that, little is known about him so far. Isabeau D'Argyll is one of the younger Knights in the order, but is much older than her appearance of being in her late twenties. The latest Lady Igraine, Isabeau was Grayson's apprentice and if not for her commitment to the order, his lover. Marquis de Lafayette was a French military officer who fought in the French and American Revolutions. His tactical expertise brought him to the order's attention, and Mallory approached him and convinced him to join the order. Although the group's youngest, his globetrotting has given him a whimsical outlook on life that grounds the squad. As an apprentice, he does not yet bear the name of a Knight.
Opinions
I've been hearing mixed thoughts about this. From "It's going to win Game of the Year" to "Meh, it's okay."
From what I've seen of it, it's got me hooked to where I already pre-ordered it (the receipt is hanging on my marker board in my bedroom). The trailers that I've seen of it makes me want the game to come out now.
So I was just wondering if there's anyone else who's interested in getting this game for next year.

I can't wait personally. Ready at Dawn has an impressive portfolio (God of War Chains of Olympus/Ghosts of Sparta, Daxter) which is enough to warrant my faith. It was disheartening to see the press pan the game, but it looks like the game has made a huge turn around if PS Experience hype is any indication.
The lore, the graphics, interesting weapons, a single player focus...yup, I want it.

I haven't really been keeping track of it at all, but it definitely has me interested. Looks pretty good from the limited things I've seen of it.

It looks too much like the Assassins Creed games but it still doesn't look too bad but there is that similarity that might keep gamers away.

I think the airship sequence they showed off at the Game Awards and the inclusion of Tesla is cool. I think the Victorian England setting is cool, and I think the premise is cool.
But the idea another third person, QTE heavy cover based shooter that runs at 30 FPS can go fuck right off.
There is absolutely nothing about the way this game plays or handles that makes me want to play it honestly. All I can say is that the Order lucked out now that Witcher 3 and Bloodborne are out of February and it only really has Evolve to really compete against.

I'm super hyped for this game. It might be another third person shooter, but it's anything but standard. The game looks ambitious with a story that looks truly engrossing and crazy visuals.
Why does everybody make such a fuss about 30 FPS? I don't get it.

You're not the only one. I've heard the pros and cons from those who obsess over it, but I've never really found it to be that big of a thing. *shrugs*.

Because 60 FPS is just better? It look and runs smoother. So why wouldn't I want that for all my games, especially when we're into the 8th console generation.

I'm still waiting for review and to watch some streams of the game before making my final opinion. It looks like the best next gen game, but I'm not crazy about games that go for cinematic over substance. From what I read, it's single player too, so I'm just curious how much fun I'll actually get out of it. Seems like it might be the next Infamous for the PS4. Fun while it lasts, but not much for multiple playthroughs.

I dunno I've played plenty of games at 30 FPS and they looked and handled just fine. Like The Evil Within for instance. The only games I feel that really need 60 FPS are fighting games and sport games. And first person shooters. But that's just me.
I just think it's a shame that some would deprive themselves of a game they may potentially like simply because of a lower frame rate. But hey, different strokes for different folks.
I'd like a good single player game every now and then. I've been playing a lot of multiplayer games as of lately, a nice single player to throw in there would be a nice change.
I'm hyped, but for those that aren't, some didn't state why. Just for curiosity, what is it about the game that you don't like?

It looks like yet another, incredibly generic shooter.
Knowing these "AAA" models, it'll be plagued with bugs that require patches that eat up half the memory of your machine, only for the said patches to cause more fuck-ups.
Strange. I remember a time when 'AAA' meant 'excellent quality.' Did they reverse the grading system when I wasn't looking?

I'm pretty damn excited. I love me a good single player game with interesting characters, lore, and setting. This game so far seems to have that.
As far as it being a generic 3rd person shooter with QTE's running at 30fps, I don't really care all that much. I happen to enjoy basic 3rd person shooters, QTE's have never bothered me, and 60fps isn't necessary in a game like this. Sure, it'd be a nice bonus visually, but there's really no reason for that to be required. There's nothing wrong with 30fps. The game looks gorgeous, even at 30fps.
Now if the game had a stronger focus on multiplayer, which to my knowledge there is no multiplayer in this game, then I could understand a clamoring for 60fps because it makes the controls more responsive. That being said, the controls aren't gonna be complete shit because of the lower frame-rate... hopefully
Before anyone tells me that my opinion on the matter is shitty, which I'm not saying anyone will, this whole post coming from someone who doesn't play or really enjoy multiplayer, and usually plays single player games on easier difficulties so that I can enjoy the story aspect more lol.

Infamous Second Son was 30 fps, and that game was damn smooth.

I'm depriving myself of the game because I have no interest in how it plays moreso than how it runs. The 30FPS cap is just the icing on top of that.
