Take a look at this group. At the start of it, I personally felt that Salamence was going to win the group. It's popular, has a cool design, and the crop of Pokemon you dislike was pretty weak. What happened? Got booted 2nd. This particular grouping is a bad example, but I can think of a number of other times when Pokemon from Gen 3 and on who could conceivably win a group got booted early, and we were "stuck" with Gen 1-2s and legendaries in a final.

Immune: gen 1 / legendaries/ starters
Boot: everything else

Yeah, that's the reason that the winners pool is oversaturated with gen 1/ legendaries/ starters. I didn't say anything to imply otherwise?

Can't be helped, if that's what the people like to do. I've just been noticing that newer Pokemon who at least I feel are well-liked and would have a shot keep getting knocked out early. It's the nature of the game.

...... I think we need to make like Republicans and start trying to restrict voter rights, 'cause this is the worst final two yet, hehehe.... Even Gloom vs. Grimer would have been better. Almost there with Meowth, Kingra, and Lugia, aaaaaaand we get the two legitimately worst things to come out of the gen1. Poo.

I suppose.... I vote Farfetch'd.
