No. No it is not. It has no use other than getting Sun Stoned and shoved in your PC. With the exception of Hoppip, every other Grass type in Gen 2 is superior. Sealeo has no business being here, either.

Furret vs. Hippowdon would've been much better, but oh well. It's only my opinion and this is only a game.

For me, Sunkern is what I call a prize pokemon.

Due to its very high rarity within the franchise, merely finding one in the wild is a huge accomplishment. Catching one is even more awesome. Furthermore, it evolves into one of my favorite grass-type pokemon, Sunflora.

I must say, as well, that when trained with the upmost care and strategy, both Sunkern and Sunflora can be real badases.


EDIT: Oh yeah, Sunkern is SO fucking adorable!

Man, I really wanted Venomoth in the finals, or at least Hippowdon... Meh, at least Sealeo's the evolved form of one of the cutest Pokemon in the world.
