Religion... They tell such good stories. But they are mere fairytales.
Instead of anxiously and with a bit too much zeal foretelling the end of humanity, maybe they should focus on...oh I dunno helping people and practicing what they preach, as I recall and I'm not a Christian there is no specific date for such things...you would think people would know their faith more than outsiders.....instead of grand standing for what would have to amount to media attention.
You'd also think people would just live their lives and not worry about it, the world has been allegedly ending for centuries upon centuries...allegedly....

Well Doomsday prophets are nothing new. For hundreds thousands of years there have been those who were saying the end of the world is right around the corner. Well, according to the research of social psychologists who studied failed Doomsday prophecies back in 1950s, there are really only seven things they can do or say to retain their faith in their abilities and their religion and dance around the fact that they got it wrong:
• The prophecy was fulfilled, spiritually
• The prophecy was fulfilled physically, but not as expected
• The date was miscalculated
• The date was a loose prediction, not a specific prophecy
• The date was a warning, not a prophecy
• A merciful deity changed his mind
• Prophecy was simply a test of the group members’ faith
I wonder which one Harold Camping and his followers will go with after they're proven wrong about today's date?

These things, these predictions, like Nostradamus, remind me of that guy that "talks to ghost"... John Edwards. They shoot out a bunch of vague bullshit that can be subject to interpretation so desperate/fearful ppl will fall for it and parallel it to real life.
Fuck... u could do a vague story about the original 150 pokemon and im sure ppl would find a way it would apply!

The calender is a big circle. It HAS to be finished. If they hadn't finished it, it would look like a piece of pizza was missing from the box...

if you read the Bible, it does say that in the last day there will be false prophets.
I do believe this douchbag is one of them.

The last "Rapture" happened not long after Randy "Macho Man" Savage's death; some postulated that Randy saved us from the Apocalypse.
Not long after Muammar Gaddafi's death, another "Rapture" came and went... Shall we sing Gaddafi's praises?

The bible is written by men. Human men. People who believe in something abstract and wrote a book about it. To me, they are the same who write about ghosts and everything else supernatural. To me, it's just fairytales. I'm not religious, as you might have discovered... And when old religious men run around saying doomsday is coming, and then nothing is happening... I can't take that seriously.
I don't mind people practising religion - it's their business... As long they do it peacefully. There are people who start wars and kill others because of religion, and it is because of such extremists I can't take religion seriously.
When doomsday/rapture/apocalypse/whatever is indeed here, then I might start to think there might be something to it. But until then, nah...
