Anyone here who was a fan of this series, and wished it lasted longer? I wouldn't have minded this being permanent, in fact, but I know that it would have been impossible.

Easily one of the most daring and refreshing storylines in fiction.

Superman was electric, Batman was Azrael, a clone was Spider-man, Dick Grayson was Batman, Bucky Barnes was Captain America, on and on it goes. It wasn't daring. It was the same ham-fisted cliché sold a little longer and a little harder than the half-a-dozen high profile switch-outs immediately before it.

Strikes me as a great multi-part story arc. I could seeing reading 3-6 issues of Amazing in the late eighties with this story in it. As a long form stunt that ran for a few years, I just couldn't care. Unto itself, maybe it was fine. The times that produced it are stacked against it, though. More bullshit. More time wasting. More backbreaking labour to try to distance major multimedia properties from the things that made them great. What ever.

More power to anybody who enjoyed it. I think they were doing much more valuable revamp work with Doc Ock shortly before it.
