Well fortunately, populations in the developed world are actually declining, I think the average is 1.7 or something kids per family, in other words, not enough to replace the current population. Japan, Germany, Canada and the rest of Europe, also included in this is the United States.

Other countries will have their birth rates decline as they modernize and develop, as education and the empowerment of women has increased, as well as advances in medicine and quality of life, births have decreased, this has been the case with every country, regardless of location, culture, values, etc.

I suspect within 30-40 years, some of the up and coming powers will be developed enough to where birth rates have declined immensely.

This is not to say we shouldn't worry about resource consumption and recklesss use because they're huge problems, but it's another factor to consider.

that's what happens when u discourage homosexuality. too much heterosexuality leads to overpopulation (obviously). we are mother nature's way of regulating the population, but no.... have it your way.

sperm counts are rapidly dropping too, world population cap is about 11 billion people provided we maximize efficiency, but knowing humanity.....

Do take into account that people from the developing countries immigrate to developed countries raising it over the 2.0 anyway. Germany has 82 million people and that is thanks to their over-the-top anti-racism culture that leads from the second world-wide shootings aka WWII. You wrote as if Canada was part of Europe.
Blame the developed countries that basically control the developing countries like in Africa, resulting in stupid actions (big families in poor conditions etc). All it would take is some responsibility.

That might be true, but that would still translate into a stable population that isn't going up or down and as education and development increases for new immigrants, they'll begin to reflect the trends of the majority of citizens in the country they live.

Germany is a very tolerant and liberal place, but it's population according to the CIA world fact book is over 90% German, the minority groups aren't this huge number that will radically change the birth rate at present anyway. Britain, France and several other European countries adopted very open immigration policies as well.



I am more than aware that Canada is not apart of Europe as I'm sure everyone else is too, maybe I could have put the word positioning better, but that's not even relevant to be honest, I was going to list several other European countries but opted not to because it was extra clutter.

Immigrants do often adapt to their new country but the poor people who stay in their home countries still continue their bad and uneducated habits.

I didn't tell any numbers other than the population of Germany - but even a percentage close to 10% is huge considering that this has only been happening for about mere five decades. I'm afraid you don't have to enlighten me about European or EU policies though. If you go to Helsinki, you'll see it's just as international in terms of citizens as is Berlin today.

Societies change at different paces, people who can't immigrate to more developed places still change and even in the developed world, old habits die hard, we as a species don't tend to change much, it happens slowly in most cases. Technology evolving so much has been forcing us to change more than what we used to...that's the driving point now.

50 years isn't a short amount of time, it's over a lifetime for people in many countries, but we'll just have to agree to disagree.

This is all obvious. But in average, people in developing countries are the reason number one for the subject of the topic - world population growth.

If a human lifetime is the measure unit then no, fifty years isn't a short amount of time. But if you compare it to your home nation's immigrant policy that is over two hundred years long, fifty years is a rather short period of time. Yet still, Berlin can be as colorful as New York today (may be partly because immigrants often choose big cities though).
